The clouds rattled and the thunders struck—the spell was successful.

Medicos was done with the spell. She stood up to meet Xtiana, where she
was waiting for her. Xtiana had asked to come over to her house to cast the
spell she needed to cast in other to locate Khalid, she wouldn’t go and meet
her at her place because she couldn’t risk exposing herself to the rest of the
Larabas that she was splicing with a witch. Witchery was one thing the
werewolves detested, and the hatred had since incepted right from the
onset and still dragged on till the time Alzarius was sent away fromLaraba. Then later on, the hatred intensified when Alzarius later dumped
her sister to pick side with their mortal enemy—Ryan Jericho. Now as an
alpha and the mother to the last sentry, she wouldn’t dare jeopardize her
position by being seeing lobbying for help from a witch.

The witch however, was a powerful woman. So adroit in the usage of
magic and witchery because she was born into a coven and also mounted
the berth of leadership right in the coven. She had always been in the head
of their coven right from childhood.

Xtiana sighed as she saw medicos walking to her. “How is the spell? Are
you able locate him?” she asked, her face saddened with confusion.

She had prattled to her daughter’s ear many times how they needed to
begin their hunt for Khalid, the boy destined to be their doom. But Adriana
had always being so relaxed, claiming all she had everything under control. It was when she couldn’t take her slovenliness anymore she decided to call on her witch.

Medicos had been working with secretly working with Xtiana for a long
period of time when Xtiana ran to her to help her obtain post of the alpha
in Laraba. she had told him the best way to do was to let Luciana looked
like a failure in the present of the council, and that was the reason she had
helped him capture Ryan and after Xtiana shot Salmad more than thirty
years ago. She had quickly sieved Ryan’s power out of him and rendered
him feeble immediately she captured him hence Ryan had remained in
captive for that longer period of time.

Medicos walked passed her, and sank herself in a chair. “Successful.” She
mouthed.

Happiness came on Xtiana’s face as she heard the words. “I trust you. So
where is he? We really need to strike him before he thinks of doing that to
us.”

Medicos scoffed. “I said the spell was successful, I didn’t say I found him.”

she said. Happiness flew away from Xtiana’s face again.

Xtiana sighed heavily. “Medicos, that’s why I asked you to come here. I
need to know if he is back in town. I remember he was trying to escape
exactly 15 years ago with her mother before I killed her, but I didn’t get the
chance to kill the boy before a Lamia came to his rescue. I really blamed
myself for not being be able to kill him then.” Xtiana muttered angrily, her
voice resentful and rueful.


Medicos glared at the Xtiana, her disconcerting contact glass boring into
her. “His name is Khalid.” She said.

Xtiana nodded. “I know. That was the last request by her father before we
captured him.”

“And he’s in already in Laraba town.” Medicos continued, ignoring
Xtiana’s story.

Xtiana stood up abruptly, happy. “That’s exactly what I want to know.

Exactly the reason why I bring you here to my house.” She leapt to and fro
and later came back to sit beside Medicos again. “So is there a way to
identify him? Or perhaps lure him into a trap or anything else we could do
to aid our victory?”

Medicos shook her head. “I can’t identify him for now, neither can the spell
do that. It seems he is being shrouded by something I can’t say, or
probably, he is still protected from his powers.” She explained.

“And is there really not nothing we can do at all?” Xtiana said, acutely
uncomfortable with medicos’ explanation.
Medicos smiled, put on her contact lens and rested her back on the chair.

“Actually there is something we can do to lure him to ourselves or better
still, identify him.” She said.

“What’s it?” Xtiana asked.


“We’ll have to perform another ritual—blood for blood. It’s a very
powerful ritual that will bring Khalid into our hands.” She addressed.

Xtiana shrugged. “Then let’s get done with it. When are we going to start?”

“I think the question should be what are going to use for the ritual?”

Medicos retorted.

Xtiana sighed. “So what are we going to use for the ritual?”

“We need Ryan’s blood for the ritual.” She said.

Mr Bells panted restlessly as he waited for the important call. His rimed
glass stood mummified on his face as he stared at the photo of Luciana.

The photo remembered him of the last time they had a conversation.

Their conversation was augury and it spoke volume of how Luciana was
prepared for her death. It was her last day on earth and all what she
envisaged back then had since come to pass while he had stayed idle for
too not to do anything.

That day, after assembling the warriors she intended to lead to capture
Khalid, Luciana had walked up to him and told him how scared she was
and that she didn’t intend to go for the battle just to capture Khalid, and be
reinstated as the alpha, but the main reason she was doing that was to
protect the future of her daughter. However, she wasn’t seeing that
coming, because she could sense that might be her mission. So she needed
to entrust her daughter in a safe hand. And even though Mr Bells tried to brace her up, Luciana had refused to be strengthened. Instead, she clutched
his hands and pleaded that just in case she wouldn’t be making it back
from the battle, Mr Bells should help her look after her daughter. The battle
was supposed to be less precarious because they were going to capture just
a 15 years. Every one of them had girded up of for victory, but Luciana
already had a clear clairvoyance that victory was very far from them.

Bells dropped the photograph and took another long glimpse on his phone.

He expected his informant to call anytime soon. This was one way he could
liberate Tamara from the clout of Xtiana and her daughter. The man knew
that two women were degraded in some filthy flings so he decided to use
that against them, just to unfetter Tamara from them and of course give the
poor girl the better life she deserved.

That was the promise he made.

His phone buzzed, making Bells to take a glance at it. He grinned as he saw
the caller. It was obviously his snitch calling.
He took a conquering gait
towards a chair, buried himself in it, punched a button on his phone and
put it to his ear.

“Hello.” He said, puffing out a smoke of cigarette.

“Idiot, have you located our target?” Rominick flared up over the phone.

Xavier recoiled in fear. He removed the stick from his mouth and cleared
his throat. “I’m on it boss. Have located the mystery-text sender, I’m sure
he will lead us to …”
