Must Read: Laraba (Werewolves,Vampires, Witches)

The young man rested his huge frame on the kerb. Eyes darting rapidly around his surroundings—swaning from his wristwatch down to the outer world. It was a cold night.

Very cold to the point that 100 degree centigrade of water could frost in attosecond.

But the forest seemed unperturbed by the frigidity, as it trees performed the slam dance to the rime cooed by nature hovering the young man in the night. Man himself had hoodie covering his head, but that couldn’t stop the unnecessary frost from smearing into his face.

His hands were save though—and thanks to his pocket that kept them hidden from the mighty coldness.

He checked his wristwatch the umpteenth time and 12:30pm beckoned to him. He was now restive—getting somewhat impatient, utterly nervy and uptight. He didn’t envisage carrying out his mission could be this tedium.

His quest was hastate and simple! He needed to find the stranger—so stranger must he find!

However he had waited long enough that he was now getting blahs—perhaps due to the fact he was lonely. And loneliness only led to one thing—indignant! Apparently, his indignation could only be repressed by nothing but blood. Now he craved for blood—he perused the environment to see if he could catch any sight of anything to feed on. But it looked like all the animals in the wood had gone to slumber. The urge was getting quenchless and it hurt! He was still lurked in the shadows when his eyes peeked at the silhouette of two figures shambling heavily towards the entrance of the town. A sneer graced his lips–a wicked sneer that gave him a cute look of a bacchant. His meal was approaching. His face cracked into wrinkles, fangs crept out from his mouth and claws shot out in replacement of nails. He was ready to bite.

Regina and Damien reached the entrance of Laraba town. Regina sighed on sighting the signposts that stood at the entrance of Laraba town. The locution; where love never ends was soothing to soul and she could feel a tinge of happiness at that. Now, they were both befuddled at the next line of what to do. Of course the sodding night was not helping matters at all.

Damien had quizzed her sister about their sudden emigration out of Locksley town to another, but Regina had replied the questions with inept stutter. At some point, she also couldn’t decipher the reason why she had to leave the comfort zone of Locksley in quest of a crisp solace at another time entirely. All she felt was an unwary urge to vacate Locksley for Laraba. She remembered it was a man that asked her to leave the town but she couldn’t even remember what else transpired between them. And even while her heart craved to stay at Locksley town, she just couldn’t oblige her crave. She couldn’t control her action anymore. She just felt like granting the man’s request of vacating the town to another. Little did it occur to her that she was under compulsion. Now, Damien wasn’t only irascible, he was also tired, drained and felt worn out and his face seemed to carry a huge scowl at her.
“I’mm soo-rry Damien believe me I never planned this to happen. All I know was that someone asked me vacate Locksley and I can’t control myself against it.” Regina muttered and waited for her brother’s reply.

The reply she expected to come in ranging brimstone.

Damien scoffed. “And who the hell is the dude that told you that? Cops or who?” Damien retorted, frustrated. The teenage boy was angry at his sister for being so gullible to allow someone from nowhere to control her.
“I know you are angry, I know you’re freaking mad at me for bringing us to this slump holes but trust me I just need you to trust that I’m going to fix this for us, okay?” she cooed.

Damien stomped his feet to the ground and scoffed. “You don’t get it, do you? I’m just freaking tired of all these. I’m sick and tired of how you could be so gullible to put us in dis discomfort.” He said, throwing his hands in the air.
“I’m soroorryy.” Regina pleaded again expecting another tantrum. Damien was a teenage who never easily got placated with begging. But he didn’t get any response again from him. Regina sighed and never bothered to look back. She thought he was still mad over her.

“I will fix this for us; all you just need to do is to relax.” She chirped as she walked and waited for him to say something again. All she heard was an incredible silence. Damien was busy collecting the snipe to give in return. Still not suspecting a dime—she fudged on.
“You are still angry, I know. As a matter of fact you have every right to be. But I’m asking you to give me time just to find us where to sleep for tonight Damien.” she said, still walking without looking back.

“I guess that won’t be necessary anymore.” Regina heard a gruff voice behind her instead of his brother’s. She stopped walking and looked back. Her face contorted into a frown seeing the figure in black shirt, black trouser, and black hair and also on black hoodie.
“Who are you and where is my brother?” Regina asked sledging towards the man in black. She glared at him to catch a good look of his face.

The chap didn’t seem to hide his face from her knowing fully well the inimical night would do justice to that. Moreover he wasn’t scared of losing his identity since she would soon be gone.
“Your brother is fine! I just don’t want him to witness what is about to happen to you.” He said and then grinned evil. “You know he is still a kid.”
Regina flinched at the bluntness in his voice.

“What is it that is about to happen?” Regina asked, her tone carried fear.
The young chap shrugged. “I’m a vampire and I just want to feed on you and I’m contemplating on draining all the blood in you or taking just titbit.” The chap said confidently, taking slow gaits towards her in other to compel her.
Regina couldn’t run, she only shuddered in fear.
“Yap, pretty girl you mind telling me your name?” He asked with a mockery tone. “And don’t be flattered because I’m trying to know your name. I just enjoy knowing the name of my next victim.”
“Re-regina” she stuttered.
“What?” The chap’s face pulled into wrinkles. He stared at the Regina with a look that scrutinized her from her head to toe. “You are the stranger right?” He asked, but only got a vox reply. Regina was still frightened and it was so obvious her body had to announce with the way she replied him.

The young man seeing that knew he had to make an amendment before situation got worse; he lurched forward to compel her.
“Now Regina, you will forget I told you I wanted to feed on you. You will see me as a friend and someone you can confide on. Lastly I want you to know that your brother is saved” He compelled her.

Regina stared blankly. “I will forget you told me you wanted to feed on me. I will see you as a friend and someone I can confide on. And my brother is saved.” Regina reiterated, feeling relaxed and composed.

Chap noticing Regina had sorbed the compulsion; he then removed the hood covering his head in other to give her a slim view of his face.
“So Regina, I’m Meshach by name. Nice meeting you.”
“Pleasure is mine.” Regina said.
“Ehm mm …just a minute please.” Meshach gestured with his hand and swept away from Regina’s face only to return with Damien who seemed oblivious of what recently happened to him. Regina hugged her brother and muttered:
“Meshach, Thank you.”
Meshach shrugged. “So where are you up to by this dead of the night?” Meshach asked, trying his best attempt to carry out his mission.
Regina’s face sprung back to sadness remembering they had no place to go. “Nowhere. We have nowhere to go.” She muttered.
Meshach chattered with his teeth. “I’m sorry about that Regina. But if you don’t mind, I don’t mind risking to get you a shelter for tonight. Just for tonight.” He said throwing more emphasis on ‘tonight’. That he did to erase any form of suspicion that might be building in the two’s mind. Of course, he was ready to shelter them for eternity just to keep them save from the Larabas.
Regina smiled and nodded. “Sure; no problem. Thanks Meshach.”
Meshach led the way, Regina and Damien hied after him. Meshach’s coming to their aid now seemed to be the first confirmation Regina needed to buttress the town’s locution.

Where love never ends. Indeed, according to her, love wouldn’t end in Laraba especially where the kind-hearted beings like Meshach were strewed in the town.

Meshach on was happy. He was half done with his mission—which was to find the stranger, while the second mission was to keep her safe.

Meeting Regina had indeed confirmed the prophecy of Thalia—the messenger of Zedicus, the god of mountains and destiny. All what they (lamiae) needed to do now was to protect Regina in other to keep Ryan save.

Thalia—the seer had subtly delivered the prophecy to the two groups. Wherein the prophecy was in folds—with each fold anchored to the other. Ryan’s fate had been twined with Regina’s, hence the reason they were destined to be together to bear a powerful hybrid. Also, there was this concealed truth about the prophecy which stated that; ‘As long as Regina lives, Ryan would not die!’ That’s because Ryan’s life had been clawed unto Regina’s. But Thalia subtly concealed that from Luciana, knowing fully well how she was determined to alter the future. Even though he disclosed to her that a stranger had been destined to conceive their greatest enemy of all time and that Ryan would father the child, Thalia deliberately failed to expose the stranger’s identity because he knew that if Luciana should know, she would hunt for her and eventually kill her, then Ryan would be dead too. So on keeping Ryan save Thalia had told Meshach to protect a stranger that would plod into the town because her life held the life of the father to bear the seed to be their last watchman. He also did justice of giving him the stranger’s name so that why Luciana’s was planning to hunt down Ryan; Meshach would be busy protecting Regina. Because in as much Regina lived, Ryan would never be defeated.

That was the mission Meshach had to accomplish in other keep Ryan save.

But little did anybody know that Luciana was always a step ahead of everybody. Being an alpha, she always took drastic measures when it concerned protecting her kind. Even the Lamiae were still slackened in discernment.

Before the alpha slunk to Alzarius for help on stopping Ryan’s heartbeat, she had planted a quite passel of werewolves’ soldiers to declare manhunt for any stranger that just plodded into town. And it was so unfortunate Meshach and his group didn’t know that. They had since been keeping stag on their movement right from the time Regina and Damien plodded into the town and were patiently for the right time to strike and hijack Regina from them.
“So here we are, you can manage this little cabin for the night.” Meshach said light- heartedly with a warmly gesture. “And please, kindly skip the thank-you part because you already welcomed.” He said with a chortle.

Regina smiled warmly. She couldn’t deny Meshach’s voice was appealing though. “Thank you Meshach.” She mouthed.

Meshach scoffed. “I Thought I told you to skip that part.” He slurred, moving round the cabin and showing them the environment.
Regina and Damien smiled at Meshach’s chivalrousness. He was friendly and jovial, making the locution chimed loudly again in Regina’s head—surely Laraba was where love never ends. Nevertheless, Regina had no inking idea of the ominous note that staling the night.
.

Meshach left the cabin but not after assuring Regina and her brother that he would come back the next day to check on them. Regina had not settled down when a loud howl upset the serenity of the cabin. Her eyes darted round to grope for the source of the howl, but then she noticed Damien had disappeared.
“Damien.” she called, scanning the environment.

No response.
“Damien, where are you?” She cooed softly, perusing every nook and corner of the environment.

No response again except for the soft thudding sound of her feet on the wooden floor as she walked along the passageway.
“Damien.” She called the third time. Her voice burthened with fear this time. Each frenetic step she took along the passageway was accompanied by eyes searching frantically for her brother.
“Dammienn.” She called for the last time but a loud thundering howl replied her. Regina’s heart chugged and almost at brim of bursting out at what she saw. Three black wolfs stood heftily staring at her. The demeanour at which they stared spoke volume of how they were ready to attack her.
“RUN!” That was the little terse advise her instinct could mutter.

Regina fled the passageway at instinct while the wolves trudged after her breaking the woods of the cabin into splinters. Regina ran very fast, but the wolves were faster. Her heart raced like stallion.

She sighted a tree upfront and soon found solace under it. She gulped enough oxygen to replace the once she exhausted. She was scared and totally dumbstruck as she la!d still under tree. She was still on her repose spree when another roaring howl jolted her up. She looked up to find a wolf lumbering towards her.

She tried to stand up and run but her limbs were paralyzed. She wanted to shout but her voice was gone. So she opted to crawling. She was still crawling when she noticed she was already surrounded by pack of wolves. The wolves lumbered towards her predatorily, howling aggravatedly to announce their victory.
