‘nothing’ Susan said trying her best to cheer up.

Susan sighed ‘you are really lucky Maria. You’ve got te best stepmum in the whole world. I have bad news for you’

‘Dad is dating Ann again’
‘Ann? Which Ann? Your former stepmoter?’
Susan nodded ‘i dont know what to do. I dont want her to come back here. You know what Christian and i suffered when last….God help us’
Maria bit her lower lip ‘its okay, i understand. You just have to calm down and manage her like that. For your dad to go back to her shows that he truly loves her. You should let him be happy’
‘happy for where? She would not step feet into this house again oo. Thats why i want you to help me out. I dont want her to come back. She’s back and pretending like an angel now, helping me to do my laundry and that of Christian’s. She’s such a pretender’
‘how do you know she’s pretending?’

No right, if they are in love with someone and wish to get married to te person, lets give them a chance. Its not easy to fall in love with someone and be separated from that person. Susan drew back in surprise then coughed ‘abeg, when you become love doctor?’
Maria laughed ‘i’m just being realistic’

Maria nodded ‘it will be fine. Just let her stay okay’

Susan laughed ‘mumu. Meanwhile, i saw Abby yesterday at the supermart after our school’
‘really? That animal. Seriously, i dont know what i did to that girl like seriously. I wanted to confide in her something that was very important but the fool messed up. She started raining insults on me, for no just reason’
‘hmm, we talked oo and we really spoke at length. Abby, do you know that her uncle is dead?’
‘JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH!!!! WHERE DID YOU HEAR THAT?’
Susan narrated everything Abby told her and Maria found herself pitying the poor girl who was now alone in the world.

‘she said tat she would be leaving for Enugu very soon. She said that before her uncle died, he gave her his parents number so she called them and they told her to come over. She’s leaving for Enugu immediately our exams are over. She said i should greet you oo’
‘eyaa, so Abby is leaving. Anyway, that girl don tire me sef though she’s really nice but sometimes, i dont understand her’
