Empress Li sat him down and put his head on her lap. “It’s okay Your Majesty, you have two already and all your children love you, please don’t brood anymore, is this what you are doing in Philnia? The Queen must be worried.” Emperor Kan smiled. “Ha! It feels so nice to know that I have caring wives that also love each other. I love you my empress.” Empress Li smiled. “And I you my heartbeat.” Emperor Kan pulled her closer and kissed her passionately.

A few months after their usual visits to the border, Empress Li fell sick and the physicians were summoned. Her son, Emperor Likan was so worried. “Physician? what is wrong with the Grand Empress? Speak!” The physician stammered. “H-h-her Majesty is preganant, it seems impossible.” Emperor Likan and his siblings couldn’t believe their ears. “She’s what?” Prince Kani was shocked. The physicians bowed. “It is a miracle Your Highness.” The maids and court ladies bowed. “We congratulate you, Your Majesties.”

The palace was filled with celebrations, even Empress Li still couldn’t believe it. The good news was quickly sent to Philnia. Everyone was so happy especially Emperor Kan and Queen Lin. The queen made sure herbs and delicacies were sent to Empress Li till her time of delivery. Everyone was anxious and worried, the delivery took longer period of time than expected but she eventually was delivered of a baby boy.

When Emperor Kan heard the news, he was overjoyous. He set out with some of his ministers the following day to journey to Skornia. When the Skornian palace received the news of his departure from Philnia, they started preparing for his arrival.
“Mother, we’ve just received news that he will soon be here.” Prince Kani smiled and bowed. Emperor Likan laughed. “Finally, do you know since when I’ve been begging father to come?” Empress Li smiled. “It’s good to see everyone so happy. Oh! Kani, I heard there is something you have to tell me about you and Happiness.” Empress Li lokked at him, Emperor Likan feigned innocence and looked away. Prince Kani quickly went on his knees.
“Forgive me mother, I didn’t know what happened, I didn’t intend to like her and then she likes me too and………” Empress Li smiled. “Shush my son. I understand. Myself, your father and Emperor Likan have agreed that you are the best person to take care of her, moreover, you both love each other and you my son have what it takes to be there for her.”
Prince Kani smiled. “Thank you mother, I am deeply honoured Your Majesty.” Emperor Likan nodded and smiled. “You are my brother and I know that she is the best for you.” Emperor Kan entered. “Must you finish this matter before I arrive? He has to receive my blessings too.” They all stood and bowed while the Emperor and Prince Kani exchanged pleasantries after which they excused Empress Li and Emperor Kan.
Emperor Kan embraced and kissed her while he checked on the new prince. After the naming ceremony of the child who was named Prince Daleh, Emperor Kan went back to Philnia. Prince Daleh grew into a fair and handsome boy, he so much looked feminine and that made him even more appealing and called’beautiful’. He totally took after Emperor Kan and right from a small age he was taught to fight and also taught official and royal duties.
