The following day Emperor Kan and his entourage left for Philnia, it was a teary goodbye and princess Happiness couldn’t hold her tears. After their departure, Empress Li concentrated on work, she was looking forward to seeing Emperor Kan at the border in six months time. The two empires were at the peak of their success and every six months the royal family met at the border. It was on one of such visits that Empress Li persuaded Emperor Kan to get a queen in order to get an heir for the Philnian throne. Emperor Kan was reluctant at first but he gave in eventually.



The new queen was nothing like the former queen, she was kind hearted and loved Empress Li and her children very much even though they had not met, but since Princess Happiness was a regular guest at Philnia, she automatically became Queen Lin’s daughter. Empress Li equally loved her and made sure to send gifts to her. But the Queen couldn’t bear a son, she gave birth to twins, they were both gils and so adorable. At this point Emperor Kan lost hope and decided his girls will be his heir until one day.
“Pae’ha(Your Majesty), did something happen in Philnia? Please talk to me. You don’t look okay.” Empress Li asked Emperor Kan worriedly.




He smiled weakly. “My empress, I am fed up with looking for a son, one of the twins will succeed me.” Empress Li sighed. “It’s okay, that’s a good one but you are not happy why?” He stood up and started pacing. “Because, I have looked for a son for so long, it’s been five years already.”
