Flames OF Paradise - Season 1 - Episode 10

Dimple turned towards her exasperatedly about to say something but looking at her expression, heaved a sigh dramatically.
‘And you call yourself my best friend!!!’ Dimple lips were twitching in amusement now.
‘Why don’t you just go and strike a conversation?’
‘You think I’ve not tried? Hell, he ignores me.

And she is rude to me. So I carefully avoid them when they are together.
‘I think you should change your strategy. Ignore him for a couple of days. Then see the effect.’ Snigdha offered.
‘You think that old trick will work?’ Dimple was not convinced.
‘It always works. Guys like challenges, bit of resistance from women initially and definitely get tempted if the hunt is interesting!’
‘Well… if you think so… though it’s quite opposite to my innate nature…’
‘Sometimes that’s alluring Dimple. Just try it once. Worse comes to worse, he will still not be interested!!’ Snigdha laughed at this and Dimple joined. Snigdha knew in her heart, Nitin was just trying his best to be professional right now, but she had seen him stealing glances at her.

As they got up to go towards the bus, Nitin came with a newspaper in his hand.
Tapping at a headline, Nitin said, ‘Have you seen the news? Two children have been kidnapped by ‘Qurban e Jihad’, who have sent an email to the State Government to free two of their mates from the Sadar Jail. It seems our arrival has coincided with a slight disturbance in the valley. A procession is out in the city by the families of the children against the militant group.’
‘But hadn’t the Central Government released a few terrorists last year?’ Snigdha asked incredulously.
‘They were for the other outfit, ‘Harkutalansar’, the group supported by the Taliban. Right now a few major outfits are ruling the roost here, both supported by Pakistan and encouraged by the separatist factions like Jung-e-Azadi in Kashmir. One of them is QEJ which has issued this warning to the State Government.’ Nitin’s face had become tensed and eyes thoughtful.

‘I thought a lot of terrorists had surrendered…’ Snigdha uttered under her breath.
Nitin looked at her, noticing the tensed tone. ‘Yes some have. That’s why we have lined up the surrendered militants of the ‘Al Faran’ group you had researched. Srinagar has a lot of those roaming around streets and helping the forces too. Under the Amnesty International’s rehabilitation schemes, these youths have been given a lease of life to begin it afresh. Unfortunately, militancy is still rampant in many areas. And this sudden turn of events means Srinagar too is tensed right now.’
Snigdha looked at Dimple who was rubbing her arms, with her brow puckered in a frown.
