She said “No!”..
“m choro i ga iri nri,aguru na agu m!”{I Want to go and eat,am hungry},i told her..
“anyi mechaa anyi aga rie nri!”{If we are through,we will both go and eat!},she said authoritatively!
“kee ihe anyi mega ihe o wu?”{what is it we are even doing?},i asked,as if i didnt know!
She took my hand and placed it on her Manchester..
“o wu ihe owu?”{oh,this?},i asked rhetorically…
I removed my hand from there,and told her:
“am not doing again!”..
She was taken aback a bit,she couldnt believe it somehow!
See me that is claiming that am not doing again,my Greatman was already tearing my double short!
“Maka gini?”{why?},a surprised Jane asked..
Not knowing what else to say,i replied that:
“O kwa i si na alikighu m gi!”{You said i dont like you na!}..
“Hmmm..Odii iji ewekwa iwe apari.”{You do get angry stûpidly Odii!},she sarcastically said…
“Why did you say that then?”,i asked..
“Odii eh,o wu imaghi na o wu egwuregwu ka m gwuga kemgbe nga?”{Odii eh,dont you know that it is play joking that i have been doing since here?},she said on a more light-hearted way!
“so kpa ndi Umuijem shi egwu egwuregwu nke ha wu ikpasu mmanu iwe?”{So how Umuijem,your kindred people play, is by getting others angry?},i asked her!
“Enwere ihe m choro ihu!”{I wanted to see something!},she replied..
“i hulanu ya!”{You have seen it now!},i said resignedly..
“ngwa ndo?”{alrite,sorry!},she said!
“a maghi m ihe i na asiri m ndo maka ya!”{i dont know what you are telling me sorry for!},i replied..
She was like:
“haba,this your shakara is too much na,stop it jare!”..”
“o wu ginwa kpalitere ya!”{You are the one that raised it from its dead zone in me na},i said…
“Ndo”{Sorry},she said again!..
Before i could say another word,she has landed her lips on mine..I tried to hold her off,but she held on and then used her hands to go straight for my Greatman..I succumbed! Its not like i didnt need it o! Am already dying within me for it;Its been two years plus now!!
We were about to enter into the real thing when Grandma came banging and shaking the door,saying was i deaf? That Paapa’s wife has been calling me since,that i should go and answer her!!
Damn!!
“m na abia mmaa!”{Am coming Mama!},i said..
I wanted to continue with Jane,but she told me that we should wait till after we are done with the food!!

I came out of our house,went straight to Paapa’s house and collected what they prepared! She said i should try and return the plates! Hmmmm,as if i was going to throw it away!!
Like 15mins later,i went back to return the plates,only to see a frightened Ogochukwu…
I was like,what could be frightening her,especially as her other sisters were around?
They told me that one Agama lizard like that ran into their house,and that Ogochukwu is alwaz afraid of Lizards! Reminds me of myself that is alwaz afraid of Cockroaches!!
Hmmmmm..I laughed like hell,which i guess must have made her somehow angry..What do i care!!
She left there,and headed to our house,she thought Blessing was around probably!!
After declaring a state of emergency in the room and declaring the lizard the “most wanted” living thing on earth that moment,i searched around the whole place,making noise with the stick i had just gotten,and bla blah bla to make it run out..
After a while,the idiot poked its head out in an attempt to run away! I kicked at it with my right leg with a full force! This one is nothing shaa,such kicks will only slow down their pace,not kill them,especially judging from the fact that the damned animal can fall from an iroko tree and still pretend as if he didnt do any big thing in that!!
…..
I rushed at it again,and it picked race,and i pursued it..We ran out of the house,but the lizard did a magnificent u-turn and tried to run back to the room seeing that it literally has no where to run to outside…Its more an open place,and its chances of survival out is almost equal to nil! So the lizard did its logic!
But that was a mistake,cuz i lashed at it heavily with my stick in that pavement as it tried to run inside,into the room again!
I smiled,cuz i have paralysed it..It couldnt run again..And i heard them say:”i kugbuola ya Odii?”{have you killed it Odii?}.
“acho m igbu ya egbu!”{I dont want to kill it},i replied!

I grabbed it by its tail and headed straight to our house..I had it in mind that i was gonna terrorize that Ogochukwu with it today..

On reaching to within view of the entrance door of our house from the backyard side,i saw Ogochukwu standing at the entrance staring at me as i approached..
O boy! I didnt care o,as i kept walking majestically up to the place she stood with my chief terror agent in my hand…
Few steps to her{though she has stepped back a bit},she kinda said out loud that:
“where are you coming to with that?”..
I smiled,and grinned coldly while replying:
“m ji ya abia ka o bia taa gi!”{Am coming with it so that it will bite you!},i said..
“mmm mmmh! Please throw that away”,she pleaded with me..
I refused..
Before she could close the door,i have caught up with the door,and she ran backwards and still pleaded with me…I refused to throw the Lizard away! I wanted to terrorize her a bit..Since she didnt want to talk to me,this is my chance to get back at her!
But damn! She is talking to me…The only thing i prayed for is for Jane and grandma not to come out…
She pleaded with me like hell,almost would have cried,and then i stopped..
I told her i was going to throw the Lizard away,and she remained calm..
I did as if i went out from the back door,and then came back again with one of my hands hiding at my back! She was like:
“have you thrown it away?”,and then told me to show her my hands to confirm while she kept a distance between us..
I brought out my hand from my back and she saw the Lizard again,and was like:
“Its okay now Odii!”…
Wheew! She just called my name with abeg o!
I was really enjoying the show even though i didnt want to continue with it..
Few seconds,and the girl was like:
“Alright,what will i do for you to stop?”…
Hmmmmm!

I just walked a bit to some junks around the place we stood,grabbed a rope and a rod,and tired the Lizard to it..
I told her:
“You see,the Lizard doesnt bite..I have weakened it…”..
I continued:
“Come and touch it?”,i beckoned on her..It kinda surprised her how i calmed down and started showing care immediately..
However,She said ‘No’ to my offer,but i insisted..
My persistence in my insistence made her come close to where i was squating..
“Touch it now?”,i said having pleaded with her a bit to do it!..
She was still afraid..
I got up,held her hand and bent down a bit with her so that she could touch it,as i assured her that it cant bite her..
I told her that i did everything i did cuz i wanted her to stop being Afraid of Lizard’s, to which she laughed sweetly to!!
……..
Its just like a Movie as everything just panned out in a way i never foresaw..
Few minutes ago,i could have sworn that Ogochukwu would scoff at me and pass,but now,with this our little Lizard show,she opened up to me all of a sudden..Opening up no be small one o,and the sweetest part of it is the Proximity!!
I offered her the chance to kill the Lizard,but she didnt have such Liver in her to do so as she instead proposed to me that we should let it go!
I told her that:
“it will come back to your house if we let it go,thats how they do!”
She said i should kill it then…I refused,but told her that i will break its legs instead..
I told her that when he reaches their home,their Doctors and nurses will treat him…..Ogochukwu laughed like hell to this!!
I was like:”na wa o! See as you just dey happy,but you were claiming hard for me,as if i was evil!”…Na for my mind o!
Few seconds later,i had brought out my Bicycle..I saw that Jane has slept off,which settled my earlier thoughts that she or grandma should not come out..Grandma herself came out when the Party was over anyway…
When i told her to enter,she was like:
“they will scold me!”..
I told her that:
“as far as its me,nobody will scold her or do her anything!”…
She happily entered the bicycle,and as i rode off,she asked me where we are going?
In reply,i told her:
“Around the whole of Avu!”..
