Must Read: I Have Done Some Great Bad Things - Season 2 - Episode 17

The next day,or rather,as dawn broke and gave way to daylight,Angela woke me up as she left the bed to open the door on hearing someone knock there!

A not too surprised Amara entered the room, came to my side and told me that she needed me to go and get something for her from Madam Obi’s house…
……
We spent the rest of the day,up until the time of our departure, talking and playing{not kiddies show play o}…
That should be towards 4pm that Angela’s driver came back again, and we all huriedly did whatever was left doing, and entered the car, with Anns place our destination…
PRIOR TO THE DEPARTURE
I got what Amara sent me to get from Madam Obi and returned..We all ate together later before i told them that i want to go and see my grandma again before we go over to Ann’s place!
Angela surprised Amara and Ann by opting to go with me,which promptly made Amara and Ann say all of us are going together…O boy! See better witches!
…..
My plan actually was to go stay with Grandma a bit before veering off to go see with Ebere..But with how things are starting to pan out,i doubted if the Ebere part of my plan will actualize…Infact,i dont think i should even be harbouring the thought again cuz its as good as not happening..Anyway,i promised myself that i will apologize to her later!

We all set out to my place, but we didnt go with bicycle{s}..Rather,we flanked down two okada{s} that drove us to our compound..Actually,our compound is really popular, all thanks in part to my big-Mouthed uncle whose father{Paapa} just died..
On reaching our house,i was really shocked by who i saw in my house discussing and chatting freely with Grandma as usual..It was no other person than Jane! She herself must have been surprised to the core too as she saw the company with me..
Just like i wouldnt have wanted again, instead of my Presence making her happy,i could see her feel uneasy save for Amara who started up a chat with her via Ukamaka things! But for fúcks sake, what is Jane doing in our house?
……..
“Odii m,Uzoma na onye nga ya leganu gi”{Odii,Uzoma and his wife are really taking good care of you},grandma said…I immediately looked At Amara whose glance were accompanied back to my eyez by those of Ann and Angela…Well, the long and short story of it is that grandma and i could have spent the entire day talking with Amara and co having no power to interrupt, except that Grandma remembered and told me that Paapa’s wife has been looking for me!
Without even thinking of it,not even remembering again that we have been quarelling,i just happily told Jane to escort me to Paapa’s place…………As if she too were in my state of mind too,she followed me almost as soon as the words dropped from my mouth{at this point Amara and friends were at our parlour talking}..

When we passed them, looks of “Odii, where are you going to?”,filled their faces…As if knowing what they were thinking,i replied:
“mmaa shi nwanyi paapa choga m..ka m jee hu ya”{Mama said paapa’s wife is looking for me..Let me go and see her},i said…
“unu mekwa ngwangwa,o kwa i mana……..”{Be fast please, hope you remember that……….?},Ann was trying to say,but i cut her short saying:
“i know!”….
……..
INTRO OF SPOILER
Jane and i went there muted all along the way..But,on reaching Paapa’s place,i realised that the wife was not around, but her other relations were around, and to my second surprise or rather, third surprise of the day,i saw The girl i had seen with Paapa’s wife in Nekede among those relations..Hmmmmm!
When i made my introduction, they were all happy to see me,and said that why she{their aunty as it were} was looking for me is so that i can help them get Firewoods from certain places since she is busy with things..Hmmmm! Men,i almost sighed..But i told them that it will be from Monday, and i could see them feel dissappointed..But i prayed them that Blessing will aid me today and take them to our Uhu to get small firewoods that will serve them till Sunday..
All through my stay there,my eyez were glued to that girl, and i really couldnt get myself to get my eyez off her..I have even forgotten that i came with Jane who has been silent all along…
The girl, whose name is Issabela, never even did like she noticed me even though she caught me staring at her several times…But thats by the way!
Jane and i left the place, and then i faced my worst fear as Jane told me to hold on a bit…
“i ga abia na nke anyi?”{Will you come to our house?},she asked me.
“Yes!”,i replied without knowing what to else to say.
“eshiole?”{which day?},she inquired.
“sunday!”,i said.
“gbalia biakwa Odii..enwere ihe m choro igwa gi”{Try and come Odii..I want to tell you something},She said..
“m ga abia!”{I will come!},i promised her..
She said she will be going from there..She held my hand a bit and then left as i stood speechless and waved her goodbye…
I went back to our house, told grandma am leaving, and i left with my Entourage!

We arrived at Ann’s place in Town some minutes later..

Her mum and dad were around, and they were happy when they saw us all..To them,we were welcomed additions to ease the boringness and lonesomeness of life around the house..
We settled in quickly, and it wasnt long before dusk, and then night masked everywhere!
Nothing much happened from the time we finally ate dinner till the next day..I said nothing much happened cuz nothing really occurred in the night between me and any of them, but,i still slept with Amara anyway……And it is not a new thing again to me!
………..
The next day,the parents left, probably, thats the normal thing..We were left alone again..After eating breakfast,We all stayed together in one room talking{dont mind me o…They talked, and i listened, inputing only when necessary-if you understand what i mean.}..
The talk soon delved or diverted to boasting of who’s hometown is the best..The way Amara was boasting of her{our} village made me very happy and i even wanted to go and kiss her for that..Of course, both Ann and Angela were just coming from our village and they were both proof testament to her{Amara’s} bragging..As the boast continued, the onus now lay on both Ann and Angela to prove their backing of how excellent their village is..What other way to prove it than to visit the place..I even heard Ann saying that her village is close to Imo Airport, around Umuohiagu in Ngor Okpala..Angela is from one bush village like that in Okigwe{Dont mind me o}..
They decided that since we will be virtually doing nothing all day in the house, that we should visit Ann’s village since it is not far from Owerri..Hmmmmm!
………
We couldnt start going to the park to hassle about, looking for a bus coming down to Ulakwu en route her villa, cuz it will waste a lot of time both in coming and going..We had no choice than to bike to Angela’s house where she beckoned on her{their} driver to take us there…Well, the driver reluctantly and hesitantly still obliged her,and then off we went to Ngor Okpala,to see things for ourselves, and then satisfy their stûpid curiosity and attain a certain idiosyncratic bragging rights!

We arrived at their{Ann’s} place some minutes later, probably 40mins or so,after also buying bread on the way for them village folks..
Their people to whom she{Ann} appeared to be popular among, were so so happy seeing her{Ann}..Questions were asked and answered, welfare and all that, and blah blah blah blah blah!

Some minutes later, after Ann must have virtually greeted all her compound people,we decided to go around a bit for some sight-seeing…I for one,was in a hurry to see the airport where airlplanes land..Yeah,i wanted to see an airplane cuz then,i only see it in Tv’s..

Well, the truth is,i dont really think that airport is in their village, but it is near it..But,the sight was really wonderful..As at the time we reached there, only one airplane was in the hanger, and it felt really good seeing it life and direct..
………
The next place we went to from that place was that St.Peter’s Onyeahalanwanneya Catholic Parish..Such a good church with good edifices all around there, and so on and so forth..
When we left there,Ann suggested we go to their village stream..As if the same thought popped up at once in our hearts,Amara told her ‘No’,that we wont be going, which surprised them!

When they insisted on going there,Amara told them that she and i will find our way home from the spot we currently are..
Angela and Ann and Even the Driver were like why?
The thing is,my village have a problem with Rivers,Stream, etc…Its a legend or a myth, whatever! But waters such as stream are not our friends..It is something we were all made to believe..To us then, the fear of Streams et al is the beginning of long life..Whether or not we will be swimming in Ann’s village stream is a different ball game…The advice is,”don’t go near it!”

Experience has proven that advice to be upright…And so,you can imagine why Amara decided that we are not going near the place..

They all bought and understood the reason and idea perfectly well, and that marked the end of our Journey there as We headed back home,to Ann’s place!…
