Must Read: I Have Done Some Great Bad Things - Season 1 - Episode 24

Nkiru went to their house on the 20th of
December…After she left,it was like the whole
house is now Empty for me(even though
Blessing,my Grandma and Uncle were there)..I
Really Felt the absence of Nkiru..While Nkiru was
around,i had stopped going out as frequently as i
did prior to before her coming..So,i decided to
now be going out again and staying out late..On
the 23rd of December,my Uncle who is related to
me like Uchechi’s father(see my earlier
posts),came back with his family as usual..

They have been coming back xmas before,but there
was reali nothing Eventful about them……That
Day when they came back,the first person his
Children looked for was me as usual,and they
Brought out Banger(knockout) and we made
heavy noise with that day…It was used to
announce their arrival they had said…It made me
laugh..i wondered how the Knockout the Villagers
have been uselessing since the early days of
December had turned to “Announcement of
Christmas homecoming”….They later gave me
some gifts as i helped them Pack their things
inside, to their house…..This my Uncle has
6children..2 girls and 4boys..The 2nd to the last
born(Chinedu) is my agemate and the lastborn
(Ngozi) are the ones that i usualy rapport wella
with,even though they all loved me….

The next Day being 24th, My parents came Back..Well i got
to know When i had come back from Where i
went to..Usually,during the xmas Period,we
usualy Wear masks with our Ugene and ekwe
(small drums) and go almost round The places
our legs could carry us to,beating the Ugene
them,and then the Person wearing the Mask will
tell the People we are in their house to do
something,else….So,that day that my parents
came back,i had gone out with Ngozi and
Chinedu to Cut and Prepare the Wood We will use
to Carve the Mask for That Christmas Period…It
was When i came Back that i noticed movements
and shouting(s) in our House,with a 505Peugeot
Car parked in the Compound..I concluded that My
Parents are Back……………………….

Due to the fact that i didnt Like their coming
back that December period,i will not include
anything that relates to them in my next
Updates….Bear With me!

The next day is 25th December,Which we
christains call the real Christmas day(When Jesus
Christ Was born here on Earth)..As usual,i dressed
up in my Christmas Clothes with every other
person and Went Straight to
(Mass)Church..Well,as kids,The church was more
of showing off our Christmas wears Than The
Actual real celebration itself..Mass ended after the
whole melodious,liturgical,Homily and Eucharistic
celebration,And with songs like “joy to the World”
being Sang…..After eating Our Christmas food as
we came back from church,Ngozi and Chinedu
showed up…hmmmmm..I went and brought out
the Ogene them and the Mask we have carved for
our “igba mmonwu”(Masquerede dance)..We set
off…We went to many Places that day,with me
wearing the mask and leading The way,and
beckoning on people to do something..Before
2-3pm,we were through and had raked in enough
money(cant rememba the amount accurately,but
should be around #3000+)..While we were
coming back,we met A group of People like us
too..They Stopped us,and demanded to know
Why we brought bad day for them..According to
them,they said each place they went,they were
either giving peanuts as money or told some
other people have been here…I now asked
them,”O Wu so anyinwa wu ndi unu huru gbaga
mmonwu na Avu niile a taa?”(Are we the only
people you saw going about With the Masquerade
in the whole of Avu today?)..”Unu kpari kwa nu
taa o!”(you guys should respect yourselves today
o),i said immediately..Those boys were 4 in
number,and i know all of them and vice-
versa..One of them retorted immediately
that,”odii,o wu anyinwa ka ishi kpa ahu agwaga
uka?”(Odii,is it us that you are talking to like
that?)..hmmmmmm…”Enwere ndi ozo anyi a ha
no nga”(is there any other people here with
us?)..I said..I now told them not to Provoke
me,that nobody will be happy with the after
effect,so lets just go each,their own way…

My Cousins were both mute throughout my
conversation with them,but they immediately re-
echoed that everybody should just go their
way..Those boys didnt want it that Way..

They wanted to fight..They had the advantage of Extra
one person,and i guess with the way they were
looking at my Cousins then,they thought they
could Out-fight us.. I Implored them to go their
way for the umpteenth time,but They didnt..One
of the boys Was Ukachi’s brother,so i told him,U
know am friends with ur sista,Why are u so bent
on fighting with ur sisters friend? I asked..”Ka m
gwa gi eziokwu odii,a like gi m gi”(To tell u the
truth Odii,i dont like you)….We all laughed..”This
boy wukwa idiottt o”(this boy is an idiottt ) i said
immediately…I guess that was the speech that
Broke the last Straw………………………

Immediately i said that,he rushed me, flinged a
punch which i dodged and grabbed him at the
waist….Gbimm..Straight to the ground he went
as i gave him heavy fisticuffs and punches..I
Didnt even give him Chance to defend,as i hit
him,punch after punch while he was still on the
ground and me ontop of him….On seeing what is
happening,his other colleagues rushed those my
Cousins..Two of them faced Chinedu while one
went for Ngozi..Oboy! This boys were way too
stronger than my cousins,which made me leave
Ukachi’s brother and rush one of them,and from
the back,i gave him an elbow Hit at his Spine..It
reali got to him as he yelled and turned,only to
Recieve heavy punches in his face..Before the boy
could even realise what was happening,he was on
the ground(Those days,grabbing people by the
waist and throwing them to the ground was the
tactics i mastered perfectly)..I gave the boy
punch after punch as he struggled and struggled
to get off of me..it wasnt easy,and i continued
punching him,till i heard him screaming “anya
mo o,anya mo o!”(my eyez,my eyez!)..I left
him,and turned immediately,one of the boys was
beating the hell out of Ngozi,as Ngozi has started
crying..Meanwhile,Chinedu and one of the boys
were reali fighting it off..So, i imediately rushed to
were Ngozi was and pushed off the boy from
him..he fell off,got up and charged at me,i
couldnt get a hold of him as he grabbed me by
my waist..My stamina helped me that day o..

They boy almost threw me off my foot,but i just gave
him a heavy and wicked Elbow Punch in his
spine..He immediately left me and started reeling
in pain..I Just left him….Ngozi was happy,and 3 of
the boys were now beaten,and we all watched
Chinedu Fight it off with the other boy..Ukachi’s
brother was eyeing me heavily(i thought)..But
that was not the case..What he saw was some
pieces of Naira notes that were poking out from
my Pocket..Before i could know it(cuz my
concentration was on that fight going on),The
boy rushed at Me,Jacked me and gbim i went to
the ground,and he took those poked out notes
and started running…i got up immediately,and
pursued him..Thanks to my Great Speed,i ran up
close to him,kicked his runny leg as he went up in
the air and went down…DUDE!! He reali injured
himself heavily in that fall,as i rushed him,took
our money and left him there….When i got back
to that Fight scene,the 3 other boys had left and i
saw my two cousins..They were happy..Me
too..We went and bought Bangers(knockout),and
then Shared our Money…We got #1000+,each,as
we made a Whole lot of noise in my Kindred with
Our Banger……………………….
