Fiona turned almost immediately ‘ah, uncle James, gud afternoon sir’
‘afternoon my dear, how are u?’ he touched her chin brushing her n-----s with his hand lightly.

‘wat of Rebecca? Is she around?’
‘no oo. Aunty Rebecca took Juliet to the hospital. She has measles’
‘what of Tega?’
‘Tega went to play ball’
Uncle James smiled. He was Rebecca’s boyfriend and he had been uncle Efe’s friend when he was alive and immediately he died, Rebecca hadnt wasted time in dating James, just two weeks after Efe was buried.
Tega was Rebecca’s first son who was just fifteen years of age and Juliet was aunty Rebecca’s daughter and second child….she was just five.

Fiona had always suspected that Rebecca was going out with James even before Uncle Efe died, because most times when Uncle Efe had gone to work, and Uncle James came around, she always sent them to their neighbour’s house to stay while both of them remained in the house till evening when its almost time for uncle Efe to return.
‘Tega and football sef! Okay, so nobody is at home abi?’

‘eh?’
‘oya c-m….c-m and help me rub my back, its been aching me since, i came for Rebecca to rub it but since she’s not around, will u do me the favour of rubbing it for me?’
‘eh….uncle….i’m washing plates….’
‘leave d plates! Dont worry, later i’ll help u to wash it’

‘dont worry, she will not beat u, i’ll be spending the night here today, infact i got u grapes. I know u love it’
Fiona nearly jumped up for joy. She loved grapes very well.

Getting into the room, uncle James had locked d door, and pulled all his clothing, standing stark naked before Fiona.
She had cried and threatened to shout but he did not budge, he had forcefully had his way with her, though she was no virgin, it hurts.
From dat day, it became a normal routine for uncle James to give her grapes and have sex with her while Bakassi, d groundnut guy was going to buy extra groundnut and have sex with her.

Dem neva pay James for him work too. Groundnut don cost, people no dey buy plenty again, if u wan continue school, then u have to work for it. U are 13yrs of age, u don get bre.ast, u don dey menstruate, u don be woman, e get one bar lyk dat, d owner of d bar na uncle James friend…e get one dey wey d man see ur picture for uncle James phone, him come talk say him lyk u say he go lyk make u work for am, because customers dey lyk young girls….and i know say u no be virgin again…i don dey watch u and i no say u don dey sleep with man….u don dey chop….so, d work dey very easy….u go just enter room with man, him go dey touch u, he go fu.ck u then him go pay u money, u fit make up to ten thousand naira a day depending on the number of man wey u sleep with. That moment Fiona had felt like dying, knowing fully well she couldnt afford to argue with her aunt.

And so she had started working with ONE TIME GOLDEN BAR and that was where she met her first love, Shola.
