Abraham watched his friend move in anger, scattering everything within his reach. He wondered what was happening. He had not seen Tommy behave this way since he turned into a “christian”. So what was happening now? Had the christ in him left him?
‘Tommy, calm down. What is wrong?’
‘that bastard called Eli had the guts, he had the guts to humiliate me in his office. I went for peace, heaven knows i went for peace, i wanted us to end any clash between us but the stinking animal humiliated me, he called me a fool. Me, Tommy Anderson. He doesnt know who he’s joking with, i’ll show him the reason why the mosquito never crosses the path of a lion’ He fumed angrily.
Abraham shook his head from side to side ‘i dont understand’
Tommy turned to him angrily hitting the table and pushing away the intercom ‘what dont you understand? Are you daft??’
‘no, no. Dont speak to me that way Tommy because i’m not daft and i’m equally not the one responsible for your anger. For God’s sake, get a grip on yourself, look at my office, you’ve turned it into a mess’
‘dont tell me that! Dont get me angrier than i already am Abraham’

Abraham knew better than banter words with his angry friend. Experience had thought him to ignore him whenever he was angry else, something unfathomable might happen. So he waved it aside.

‘i’m sorry, but….you really should calm down. Remember God wont be happy with you if you continue to act this way’ There was a bit of sarcasm in his voice as he fought hard to hide a smile. The look Tommy sent tp him made him keep shut, but he couldnt resist the urge to laugh. And he did laugh.
‘its obvious you are all about bringing out the demon in me. This is all a conspiracy plotted by both you and Eli to make me succumb to anger but i tell you, that i resist that temptation’ Tommy said pointing a finger at him.

‘oh tell me something else Anderson!’ Abraham said placing a hand under his chin ‘seriously Tommy, you are something else. God should be having a serious headache by now with the likes of you in his kingdom. And seriously, if this is how Christians control their anger, then i’d rather know no God till i die’ he regarded his friend seriously before clearing his throat ‘sit and tell me what happened’

‘is that why you are mad?? Seriously, you know how Eli is, you know how crazy he can be at times’ Abraham said.
‘no! The idiot had the guts to call me names. It doesnt matter how crazy he can be or not, he insulted me and thats it, i, the great Tommy Anderson. He doesnt know what he’s playing with’

ABRAHAM: Look, i might not know what it is to be a true christian but hear me now, my father was a pastor and my mum was a deaconess. While my two elder brothers followed my father’s path, my younger sister a dedicated member of the choir, i chose to follow the other way, the way of destruction. I saw how they served God, i saw how holy and clean they were. Yes, they sinned. But they knew exactly how they sinned, and when they sinned, they asked God for mercy immediately, not later, that moment they sinned. Tommy, anger is inevitable, yes. I have a very harsh temper, you know me, even harsher than yours, but if there’s one thing i learnt from my father, his gentle sould rest in perfect peace is how to control anger. Whenever i’m angry, i dont mess up like this, no! This is madness. You are angry and you are scattering everything, for what use? Are this inanimate object the reason for ur anger?? Why then do you take out your anger on them?? Is it because they cant talk?? Eli provoked you, yes. In your newly acquired christian faith, this is wrong. Do not allow anger control you. Do not make decisions when you are angry, no! You’ve messed up Tommy, you’ve messed up big time. As a christian that you are or that you claim to be, you have to go down on your knees right now and ask for mercy. If you as a believer can act this way, what will i, an unbeliever do?? If you should behave this way as a believer, how do you expect me to listen to you whenever you start preaching the gospel to me? Think Tommy, Think’ he stood up from his chair ‘i have a meeting by four with the board members, better be present. We have less than twenty five minutes’
Tommy buried his face in shame. What had he done??
