I woke up later to found myself in my room. I tried to stand up but a hand grabbed me with force. I became frightened as i felt that i was been attacked. I looked by my side to see my mum holding my very tightly and Mira was standing beside her with another man.
MUM: oh my God! Thank God you are awake **she shouted with joy**

I couldn’t understand what was going on, i couldn’t comprehend why they were all in my room neither could i understand what she meant as i stared at them randomly with confusion. I tried to stand up but my mum still hold me very tightly

MUM: lay still, you are very weak
ME: weak, why am i weak, what happened? **i asked in confusion**
I could also notice the confusion on their respective faces which made me more confused. What is going on? I asked myself
MUM: you fainted and you are currently on drip that is why i don’t want you to stand up
ME: **still confused** fainted?
MIRA: you drank too much alcohol and that made you lost conscious
It flashed back into my memory like the speed of powerful wind. I began to remember how i drank some wine before my mummy came and called Mira. That was all i could remember
ME: i am okay now, i need to go downstairs mum

MUM: no, you can’t do that now; all you need now is rest

ME: i am okay now, i am strong as normal **i argued**

DOCTOR: no, you can’t, you may feel strong but the drip is still active and it will have a great effect on you if you try to stand up
ME: don’t worry about me, i will be fine **i shot him “what is your concern” look**
The drip was withdrawn from my body and i stood up from the bed as they stared at me. I tried to move a step forward but i couldn’t. It just happened like a flash; i felt as the earth began to rotate in my head and my sight became blurry. I fought to regain myself but couldn’t as i tend to fall but all thanks to quicker reaction from the doctor as held my body before i could crash to the floor. He lifted me to the bed and fixed the drip back
MUM: this is what i was trying to prevent but you wouldn’t listen

DOCTOR: please ma, he needs some rest and food. I have to go now, it is almost 10pm
I couldn’t believe that it was already night what more of been 10pm. Oh! S--t, what have i gotten myself into? I groaned
MUM: okay doctor, thank you for all the help you have rendered, you really saved my son and you will not go unrewarded

DOCTOR: it has always been my pleasure working for you. I don’t mean to be disrespectful or something related but i don’t think i will accept anything from you, what you have done for me is more worth than my service

MUM: that is what you always says, anyway, you can go but i will pay in some money into your account and i am not in the mood of any argument now, i have to tend to my son
DOCTOR: if you insist ma

The doctor left with his tool remaining i, Mira and my mum. I closed my eyes because i don’t want my eyes to meet with that of my mum because i felt guilty of everything, for all the pains that i let her pass through in just a day

MUM: what do you want to eat now **she said as she sat beside me, touching my forehead**
ME: i am not hungry mum, i am okay **i replied with my eyes totally closed**
MUM: i won’t take that. **smiling** i know your choice and it has already been prepared. Mira, please, get him the food

Mira walked out of the room in a hurry. I couldn’t help but imagine life without my mum. She was so caring and compassionate. I knew that i owe her one and the only way to repay her back was to be honest with her, do whatever she wants of me

MUM: i want you to be at ease, feel cool. Everything is going to be alright. **she said with a smile**

Mira walked in with a tray with other drinks that my dim eyes couldn’t recognise because i haven’t seen them before or maybe because, i hardly go to the bar. She rolled my reading table to the front of the bed while i sat up with the help of my mum. I was not feeling hungry but the food in front of me was too mouth watering that i think of the possibility of pouring every single content in the plate into my stomach at once

MUM: you to try eat a little, it will help you regain your strength **she said as she put a spoonful into my mouth**

I began to feel shy as my mum fed me in front of Mira who seemed to be more concerned with my health. I felt like a baby which made me not at ease as i constantly roll my head to left-right now and then

MUM: hey boy, stop been shy, it is mummy that is feeding you **she joked while a little smile flashed through my face**

After i have taken a large quantity of the food which i gulped down with the drink which tasted more of apple, Mira returned the plates before returning back

MUM: you have to take care of yourself and don’t do anything funny. I have to go and get some sleep. Goodnight son
ME: goodnight mum **i weakly replied**
She gave me a peck before walking out of the room with Mira and i began to feel empty. I switched of the
light on the switch by my bed and in no time, i was sleeping soundly

I woke up the following morning feeling very strong. The drip was long finished and i walked into the bathroom to freshen up. After i was done, i put on a simple wear and headed downstairs where i meet mum and Mira already prepared for church
ME: good morning mum
MUM: good morning, how are you feeling now?
ME: normal and stronger
MIRA: good morning Ben **she greeted flashing her super white teeth**
ME: morning Mira
MIRA: **smiling** thank God you are okay now
ME: thank you Mira. Hope you guys are on your way to church?

MUM: yeah, you have to take care of yourself; there is breakfast in the kitchen. I will cook myself whenever we return
They left while i went to the kitchen to have what was prepared that early morning. After i was done, i made my way to the gym; that was my first time for long time. I spent not less than thirty minutes in the gym before i returned to take my bath
I was in the sitting room watching the remaining series of the Merlin that i bought the last time out with Janet when mummy and Mira returned
ME: you guys are back soon
MUM: yeah! Today’s sermon was brief
ME: what are you going to cook mum?
MUM: why do you ask?
ME: because i was wondering if you can cook a good food **i replied as we busted into laughter**
MUM: why do you think about that?
ME: because Mira told me that you usually cook every Sunday but you haven’t done that since

MUM: you shall see today
She replied and made her way to her room while Mira also left for her own room giving me the space to finish what i was watching. Mummy later walked into the kitchen while Mira later joined them
In no time, they were done with whatever they were cooking and i couldn’t wait to have taste of the food though i don’t even know what they prepared
We were seated in the dinning as mummy prayed over the food before the plate was opened to behold a well prepared Egusi soup well stocked with different kinds of fish and meat with a well pounded yam
ME: wow! **i shouted in surprise**
MUM: **smiling** i told you
ME: this is the best i have ever seen
MUM: and you haven’t tasted it. I bet, you will choose this as your best food to fried rice
The food was very delicious, too delicious that you will not feel any pain if you are been knocked on the head and i couldn’t even remember anything, not even my name as i devoured the food. Though i don’t eat pounded yam, this one was very different, it made me wanting more and more and i wished my stomach was expanded so that it could contain more

MUM: you eat too much today **she said as she sipped her drink**
ME: wait mum, let me finish eating first
I did not even mind as they both busted into laughter. When i was well filled or rather over filled because i couldn’t walk again, i relax on the chair as i drink chilled water
ME: i am over jealousy of dad
MUM: and you will have a woman that will cook more than me

ME: forget that one mum, i knew that no one could cook as you do
MUM: you are flattering your mummy again
ME: i am sorry mummy
MUM: remember that your father will be coming back tomorrow and you will be the one to meet him at the airport **she dropped a bombshell that took me off guard**
