ELFISIUS
**************************
Trying to steer a mule to the right track can be very tedious but when the necessary force is applied, it goes where it is commanded. In my own case, I tried to show Lucien the way but his stubbornness is nothing compared to that of a mule. He refused to listen to my pleas of diplomacy rather than brute force. I know it’s been a while since he got involved in a battle and his gift must be probably yearning for one, but trying to burn down a kingdom just because of that is not the way to go. He has always wanted to take control of the North just as his father but that greed brought a man so powerful to the grave and I don’t why he thinks his case will be different. How Nero died exactly is still a mystery as many said that someone whom we do not know for certain turned one of his spells against him. Lucien believes that strange person is no other than Melfisius; a man who could be called Nero’s flesh and blood. Lucien believes his father was betrayed by one he called brother and has vowed to get him any chance he got. He has one now and he has dedicated a few of the gordands to bring him back in chains.

If he has just the intention of getting just the wizard then he should carry that out quietly rather than kill so many innocents because of a single man. My words weren’t deem worthy of listening to and so he ordered for the men of steel and quite a number of the gifted ones.
I expected him to lead the charge after all of his words of rage and all but instead he decided to stay in his palace and ordered my old bones to carry out his evil plans. I was surprised at his decision to stay in the palace, why doesn’t he want to lead the charge? Why stay behind if he was so eager to taste blood again or is he trying to avoid what happened to his father? If that is the case, then it’s a wise choice from him. I decided to put the young king and his strange decisions aside and carry out the task at hand.

It took nearly a day for the legions of steel to get ready with their commanders taking charge of their divisions. I summoned the best of the gifted ones available as some didn’t see any sense in wrecking havoc on a little kingdom because a child said so. Of course, they wouldn’t say such in the presence of the ‘child’ as a single stare from him will make them change their minds but I allowed them stay and went with the ones who wanted to go. We left the next morning matching towards the North and by nightfall, we should be working to pulling down the high walls of the kingdom. I wasn’t comfortable with what I was about to do but then the foolish king didn’t help himself by going after the one man that could end Lucien. it was an unnecessary move and at the end, it didn’t work out as he thought it would and now his subjects will pay for his stupidity.
A party to plead on his behalf should have been sent but Lucien would have demanded for the head of Melfisius, something the king might be hesitant to give. I wish I could help here but this was beyond me and I am bound to obey my king.

We were just one town away from the little kingdom when I suddenly felt the powerful aura of a gifted one as I couldn’t say for certain if he was a wizard or a sorcerer but I could tell it was from a man. The aura was all about rage, in its purest form. A rage that couldn’t be compared to that of all the gifted ones with me which includes myself. I heard murmuring among the gifted with me; they must have felt the aura too.

Even the gordands looked worried; whoever was coming had no joy in him.

I calmed the nerves of the gifted with me and ordered them to hold their tongue in order not to unsettle the soldiers. I urged us to continue our march towards the North, the wizards and sorcerers didn’t look convinced but they obeyed me anyway. The aura kept coming closer and closer and finally it revealed itself to be the other golden destiny who managed to escape from me.

I was surprised to see him and stopped my horse and the others followed my lead. What was he after that led him towards our way? Was he going after Lucien? I waited for him to stop his charge and he did. There was a woman behind him and then another woman too was with him.

The last woman was Nyasa, Lucien’s favorite gordand.

“Where are you headed, young man.” I asked the enraged man.

“Kieran, please don’t do this. Let’s go back; I don’t want to lose you too.” The strange woman with him said but he ignored what she said and answered my question.

“I am here for Lucien, where is he?” he asked.

“What arrogance! I will pretend I didn’t see you. Do as the young woman said and return from whence you came.” I replied him
“Leave my way, old man. I won’t say it again.” He told me. I laughed and repeated what I earlier said and he did as I said. He turned his horse around and then rode back where he came. I thought he had gone until he suddenly turned around and charged towards me and my men. I stood my ground and my men did the same. When he was close to me, I felt the ground rumble and the sky darkened. The sudden rumble of the ground knocked the soldiers off their feet but those on horses managed to hold on. I wondered how he was able to do it, but I will find the answer to that later. I sent forth some men towards him but a lightning strike went through them and turned them to burnt flesh. This man had every intention to do as he said. The gifted ones among me were scared to attack which forced me to respond with the cursed flames.

Immediately, I did that, the gordands with me surrounded me with their horses to protect me from the attacks of the man. The hunter stopped my cursed flames and hurled it back towards me and then added a powerful lightening strike to it.
I didn’t see the lightening coming as my focus was on the flames. If it hadn’t been for the gordands, I would have been dead.

His attacks went back towards him as they couldn’t seem to penetrate the gordands.
He once again sent them towards my men who were charging towards him. Their screams of agony pierced my heart as the unfortunate ones hit by the flames burned to the ground. His strange ability to redirect attacks made it impossible for me to think of anything to use to harm him. I had to think of something quickly before he finds a way to get to me but nothing came to my head. Facing him was just like facing Lucien only that he had so much rage burning in him. How long before he manages to get the women away from me. My answer was given quickly as he once again caused the ground to shake and then a wind came from the north and swept us off our feet. He charged towards me after that and then stopped when he got to me.

He looked at the gordands with me for a while. He didn’t seem to find what he was looking for and then turned his attention to me.

“That’s enough, Kieran. You have your passage way now, there is no need for any more killings.” The strange woman said again.
He stared at me for a while before continuing on his journey towards the south. I thought of getting up to follow him but I knew that I wouldn’t last long with him. Lucien can take care of himself as he has an army of both steel and magic and the walls of the gordands to protect him from this mad man. Moreover, they both carried the same powers, the match was balanced.

THE UNKNOWN
***********************************
“Melfisius, it’s time to carry out the final part of the plan. Ask Rachel to lead our attacks towards the men from the north. You and I need to follow the hunter to the palace of the mad king.

It’s time to take get what was stolens from me centuries ago.”
