Sandra’s phone buzzed. She popped the screen and hissed loudly. It was Wole. She was yet to accept his pleas. He wanted them to go on and forget about his family’s cold attitude to her till they got to the bridge. Sandra had ignored his calls and messages. She threw away the fresh morning flowers he dropped by her door every morning. She even banned him from coming to her convocation ceremony if he didn’t want to receive the biggest insult and embarrassment he wouldn’t forget in a decade.

“Wow. Is there a snake in my office?” A plump dark skinned lady asked as she walked majestically into the office. She looked at Sandra with a puzzled look and asked her if she was the one that hissed. Sandra looked down at her toes and nodded. She sighed and sat on the seat before Sandra. She lifted her face and answered all the questions asked by the young woman.

“So, you think you alone fit to work for Tom?” The woman asked. As if on cue, tom walked into the tastefully furnished office and sat just beside the woman. He scrutinized Sandra well, retrieved his phone from his pocket and continued chewing away his gum.

Sandra shifted uncomfortably on the seat. She couldn’t believe she would ever be a hundred miles close to a star, a celebrity!. Well, dreams do come true they say. There she was, staring at the handsome actor with a bad boy look.
“Miss Sandra?” The woman called out, staring at Sandra’s Curriculum Vitae to check if she was correct with the name.

“A penny for your thought miss. Why were you carried away just like that? We need a serious minded lady and not someone that is easily distracted!” She spat heatedly.

Sandra sighed and muttered her apology again. She made sure she was composed for the rest of the interview. She was informed she would be contacted via her e-mail if she got the job.

She thanked the agent, casted another side glance at Tom who was busy with scheduling and rescheduling filming. she walked out of the exqiuisite office, mentally screaming ‘Halleluyah’ and her heels clicking against the tiled floor and hoped in her heart she would get the job so she could be busy with something before going for her youth service. She branched at the pop corn stall and bought some packs of corns she could munch on in the cab. She turned around to make for the building’s exit when she crashed into someone else who was behind her.

“Oww” Sandra exclaimed, losing her balance and her figure stumbling backwards, almost tumbling over due to the inches of her heels.

The person she crashed into reached out reflexively to catch her before she hit the floor.

One of his hands grabbed her by the waist while the other supported the hand that held the popcorns. Sandra sneezed as she took in a familiar whiff of perfume.

Stunned and entranced, she stared up at the ‘bad boy figure’ of Nollywood.
