Memories Of Cupid - Season 1 - Episode 49

Sandra waved at Katherine, her course mate
and project partner as the latter walked
out of her room. Katherine had come two
hours ago in order for them to Complete
Mr.Bada’s project.
They were in their final semester already which meant just a few months away for their convocation.
Sandra fell on her bed and licked the remaining
cones of ice cream Katherine had bought
for her when she was coming. She picked
her phone and found out she had missed
calls from her boyfriend, Wole. She had
put her phone on silence zone before she
started working on her projects so she
didn’t know she had calls. It was 10:12pm
already so she couldn’t go out to buy
airtime to call him back. She only had
some megabytes left from the data plan
she had subscribed the previous day.
“Hey love” she added a smiley with two
love shape in its eyes and sent it to Wole. She dropped her phone and packed the books on her bed. Her phone buzzed,
she took it in her hands and Wole’s
message popped up. She smiled.
He was faster replying on whatsapp than any
social media. She checked his profile
picture and smiled when she saw it was a
selfie picture they had both taken two
days back under a guava tree. It was so
beautiful.
They both smiled and they looked happy.

She was about replying when she heard
gunshots and screams of students. She
heard the sound of doors opening and
louder screams. She swallowed her fears
and quickly typed some words to Wole but
her messages were not delivered as there
was no network at all. Wasn’t it some
few seconds ago a message was received on
her phone? She sent him an SMS of what
was happening in her hostel but it came
back to her undelivered too.
Suddenly, she heard a loud and heavy bang
on the door. She froze.
