jilted - Season 1 - Episode 73

Haira POV

I was worried about Eugene. Eugene is my friend, my only friend. She stays somewhere here in Port Elizabeth. Two years ago, when I just returned from the state, she called to tell me her husband beat her up as usual. It was the last time we spoke, I tried reaching her but I couldn’t. She gave me an address before we lost contact, I flip through the pages of my phone book diary and searched for the address. I remember I wrote in there.
“26 church Hill street Glendinningvale,” I read out when i finally found it.
“You want to check on her?” Ambrose asked, he sat next to me on the bed, his laptop on his laps and his fingers working effortlessly on the buttons.

“I miss her, I want to see her” I said twisting my lips.

“We can go today if you want” He smiled, his attention on his laptop.
“Like, what are you doing on this system now?” I moved closer to him, my two hands around his waist and my head fell on his shoulder.

“I need to finish up some thing baby, about to export 20,000 bags of cocoa” He gave me a quick kiss and continue his work.

I smiled, he is really doing good with his business but I think he needs to do better. He gave agriculture all his attention that he forgot he had a laundry company…
“Ambrose” I called out softly.

“I know you love attention, I would give that to you when am done, Just spare me thirty minutes please” He said still facing the laptop squarely.
“I think your laundry business is dying, you don’t give it enough attention” I whispered and he gave me a quick glance.
“You might be right though, what should i do now?”
I love it when he ask for my opinion, it makes me feel loved and appreciated.
“What do you think the problem is?”
“Baby, Clients have dropped drastically and I can’t tell what the problem is”
“What are your staff doing about it? moreover when was the last time you gave them a surprise visit? have you thought about it? You might be paying AWOL staff” I said and he suddenly stopped working, he folded his arms and shut his eyes.
“I am lost, I haven’t been there for a while now and profit have reduced for the last few months. Baby, come to my aid” He pulled me into him, one of my hand around his waist, the other around his neck.
“When we return home, spare me 10million naira to arrange adverts and get the business to another state, I would handle everything my self and you would get thrice your former profit, I promise” I spoke into his chest, he raised my body from his and kissed me deeply.

“You are a rare gem, I would give you the money when you are ready” he said pulling me to hug him passionately.

“If you don’t mind, I would have to sack some people” I told him and he nodded before resuming his typing.
“Baby, you haven’t gone to see any of the houses your father willed to you” I said, I saw pictures of the houses on his laptop a night before and I wawed. Very big houses and am sure he would make a lot from them if he rented them out.

“Do I need it? We have money haira” he said still giving all his attention to the laptop.
“Rent it out sweetie, like that duplex, you can rent it out for huge amount considering that it’s located at Lagos island”
“I would sell all, the four of them”
“Including the 142 rooms self contain?” I opened my eyes wide, he can’t sell a dead man’s properties while I am still here as his wife. His father own a lot, from a duplex, to six bungalows located in a compound, A 142 rooms self contain built in the “boys quarters” style and finally a mansion.
“Everything, I don’t need it baby, Haira if we stop working now, money would still come and we can never go broke, trust me” He said pulling me into him for a cheek peck.
“Look, You would renovate everything once we get back and rent them out, I mean all of them oo” I said pinching him from the outside of his black shirt.

“I am not interested, how much is a room self contain now, you expect me to start taking those peanuts? Sorry, I can’t” He said shaking his head.

“What are you saying? A room self contain should be around 100k upward, sweetie multiply 100×142 now, we would rent them out oo” I insisted and he threw his neck to the back showing how stressed and irritated he is by our discussion.

“You know what? from the bungalows, to the duplex, mansion and self contain everything completely is now yours, I will tell the lawyer to provide necessary documents, Just handle it in your way” He said and my jaw dropped. He gave me a quick glance and smiled.

“Someone is short of words, courtesy of Ambrose” He grinned setting his laptop aside and pulling me into him.
“You are amazing, everything i own is yours. Don’t say a thing, Just reciprocate at night” He said chuckling loudly and I joined.
“All you know is taking me to bed, nothing else” Lifting up his black T shirt, i rubbed his back.

“At least I am not completely useless, I can do something really well” He licked my face and la!d me on my back and I quickly stop him.
“Try starve yourself once in a while, you don’t just have anytime you want to, besides my flow is still here” I winked and he smiled softly rolling down my body.
“It’s never my fault, you are a temptress” He said lifting his laptop back to his laps.
