I couldn’t wait to get out of the country, because, what I thought was going to be a memorable journey for me…turned into something else.

I was very sure, this had been going on for some time…. Especially when nobody was home.

My parents came back the next week……

I didn’t get to see Shola during that period…..

The week I was to go back to S.A….

Shola called me….


Me: Wow….


Shola: How’re you?


Me: I’m okay….

Shola: Jide, when I have this baby….


Me: Yes, when you’ve the baby….


Shola: I’m thinking we should go our separate ways….

Me: What? Calm down Shola…

Shola: *she starts crying on the phone* No… don’t tell me to calm down… I read all those messages…. And I understand what’s going on…

Me: We can’t break up Shola…. It doesn’t even make sense…

Shola: See, I can’t stand the pain… moreso, you’re going back to school again…. It’s only going to continue…

Me: Nolly is just a friend Shola…. But you won’t listen..

Shola: Don’t tell me that… Do I look like a child now…. Anyway, I just called to tell you… we’ve broken up…. I can’t continue seeing you again…. I can’t withstand been cheated upon every now and then….


Me: I’m coming to your school…


Shola: No, don’t bother coming…. I’m not even in school… I made sure I was far away from you… very far away…

Me: So where are you now?


Shola: It’s none of your business…. Goodbye Jide…

Talk about being heartbroken….

I was just in that exact state of mind….

My life was turning into ruins gradually…
Shola has broken up with me….

I just saw my sister who’s still in senior secondary school having S£x…

And out of all this darkness, there was only one shining light at the end of the tunnel…


Me: Baby, I’ll be coming back this week….

Nolly: I can’t wait baby…. Our house is ready…. Do you need anything?


Me: No, I should be asking if you need anything……

Me: I’ll talk to you later…. Bye….

The day I was to leave came, I didn’t even bother calling Shola…

I went to the airport alone…..

Although, I already spoke to Nolly about my departure….

I got to South Africa the next day…. As it was a night flight….

5am, Nolly was at the airport already waiting for me….

As I got out to the arrival entrance….

She was dead gorgeous….

I jumped into them…. Like I’ve been lost for ages…

Nolly: How was your flight baby?

Me: It was okay… just the normal stuff… but I’m really tired and hungry…

Nolly: Didn’t you get something to eat on the plane….

Me: I did… but it didn’t get anywhere….
We left the airport building heading for the car park….


Nolly: Do you want to drive?


Me: Really? So you’ll allow someone who’s been in the air for close to 6 hours’ drive you now? You’re weird….

She came closer to me and hugged me…..
We kissed….

Nolly: I’ve missed you so much…. I’m more than happy you’re back baby…


Me: Yea me too…. Nigeria wasn’t favorable as I thought it would have been…

She entered the car as we drove outside the airport….


Me: I can’t wait to see our new place…


Nolly: Then wait and see….


Me: So explain how it came to be…


Nolly: Actually, it was my dad… he gave us…. Both of us….

Me: I don’t understand…. Why will he do that?

Nolly: Common…. He knows we’re together… and you’ve been treating me well….


Me: You’re not even scared of driving in the night…

Nolly: We’re in the morning…..


Me: Yea, but it’s still dark…….. So night….


Nolly: Well, if it’s night in Nigeria….. It’s morning here in South Africa….


Me: Baby, it’s our second semester…and we’re going to have our long break……


Nolly: Of course, I’ve thought of all that…. Wherever you’re going…. I’m going with you…


Me: Of course…. I know!
It was the same road towards my school…. Only a different street….

In about an hour and a half, we’re home!


Me: Wow…. You really did the colour…


Nolly: Yea baby….

She came closer to me…. She hugged me tightly, looking at me very seductively…..

I almost cursed Shola for all she has done….

Talking about beauty….. She gets beautiful by the day…. Every 24 hours….

She keeps on radiating…


Me: Baby, you’re so beautiful! I’m really sorry if I’ve caused some wrong in the past…. I want you to know I’m really committed to you no
She held my hand and took me inside….

It’s shaped like a mini-flat….

Very low fence with a low gate also….

The house was coated in army colours…with rare white paints….

We entered the house as she still held on to my hands
We entered “our room….
It was more like a hotel room….

That was the only place that was air-conditioned….

There were double sized beds….

With a TV hung on the wall…

It was perfect!

She pushed me to the bed…..

I knew what was up….

She sat on me….

Me: Nolly…. You can bet I’m very tired right now… I’m sure my J0yst!ck is tired also…. I can’t even stand…

Nolly: Don’t worry… you don’t have to stand… I’ll do all the work…..


Me: Nolly no… stop… I’m serious… I’m not in the mood….

She got angry with this and left me in the room….
I wouldn’t know where she went to…

I slept with all my clothes on and shoes…
