I held the phone tight and felt like smashing it on the wall. Why will she drop the call on me?

Initially I have the tendency of smashing whatever is within my range if I get angry to this extent but it’s something I have learnt to control over time. I took a little time to calm myself before I called her back.

“Why did you have to drop the call on me?”
“Is she gone?” she threw back ignoring my question.

“Why did you have to drop the call on me? I repeated.

“Because I wanted to.”
“You dropped the call on me because a friend of mine came, someone you know right from camp and not like we have something sinister going on.”
“Oh! Please spare me that. You know as well as I do that she had something for you which I don’t think she has gotten over.”
“Well just so that you know, I wouldn’t have dropped the call on you if reverse was to be the case. I wouldn’t react the way you are doing if it was to be you.”
“Yea you wouldn’t say it out. you would rather prefer to give me the whole day or whole week silent attitude. Yes that’s what you would do.”
“I think we are so done talking about this.” I said with a note of finality.

“You called me to talk but you are running away now right? It’s all good, bye” she said and dropped the call before I could.

I dropped the phone and rolled over the bed burying my face into the pillow. I was like that when Purity came in.

“Are you ok?” she asked sitting beside me.

“Yea, I’m good.”
“Are you sure? I overhead your discussion with Shania.”
“It’s cool, just a minor stuff. We will sort it out.”
She surrendered and went outside with her phone. I overheard her talking on the phone before I left for the bathroom. Few minutes after I left the bathroom Shania called.

I wanted to ditch the call but decided against it on a second thought.

“Yea?” I said as I picked the call.

“Baby I am sorry.”
“Don’t worry it’s ok.”
“I know it’s not, you are just trying to avoid this. Sorry I allowed my anger to take control of me, I shouldn’t have. She just called me now and explained things to me, I am sorry.”
“I said it’s ok, so let it go already.”
She tried to get me to cheer up but after trying unsuccessfully for a while, she gave up and we said the good nights. After the call IJ came in with the toasted bread. I couldn’t eat as I had lost my appetite. I told them to reserve mine that I will take it in the morning. After they ate, IJ left for her room while Purity went to the bathroom. She changed to my boxer and polo top when she came out from the bathroom.

I had been so pissed with the whole Shania incident that I didn’t know when I slept off again.
