'Twist of Fate' Season 1 Episode 271 Recap - Aired: Monday 18 September 2017

Abhi is driving and happily talking to himself.
He thinks of Tanu's lies and gets upset.
He decides to call her to give her a piece of his mind.

Tanu answers and asks why he didn't tell her he was going to Delhi.
She accuses him of not realising that stress is bad when one is pregnant.
Abhi asks if she has forgotten she is no longer pregnant.
She asks why he's shouting at her.
He calls her a pathological liar and tells her that he now knows the truth and He says he now knows the reason she wants to marry him is for his money.
She says it's not true.
He says he has been good to her but she has been terrible to him.
He tells her that her plans have backfired.
Tanu says she loves him very much and Pragya is just a liar.
She says what he saw in the video is fake.
Abhi says he never mentioned anything about a video.
He asks how she knew about a video.
Tanu stutters.

He says that's the problem with lying.
Tanu says she has never lied to him.
Abhi says he loved her and even when he married Pragya, he never left Tanu but he has discovered her to be a liar and a deceitful person.
He tells her not to forget her boyfriend Nikhil and he asks her to let Nikhil know that he would make his life so miserable that he would be begging.
He asks her to also tell her other partner, Alia that she is dead to him and she should never bother coming home.

Alia asks Tanu how all that happened.
Tanu says Abhi won't spare her.
Alia asks how Pragya did it.
Tanu asks what would happen to her.
Alia reminds her that they are all affected.
Tanu says Alia has already been thrown out.
Alia says her plan was to return to the house.
Tanu says she has nowhere to go.
Alia says she's sure Pragya sent the video to Abhi from her phone since Abhi was in Delhi.
They start blaming one another for their failed plan.

Purab calls Abhi and says they need to talk.
Abhi says there is nothing to talk about as he is happy to have a friend like Purab.
Purab asks what he's talking about.
Abhi says even when his family left him, Purab was always by his side.
He says he now knows everything and he knows how Purab supported Pragya.
Purab tells him that Nikhil and Tanu are planning to kill Pragya by tampering with the brakes of her car so Abhi should make sure Pragya doesn't get onto the car.
Abhi is in Pragya's car.
He checks the brakes and realises they are flat but he doesn't tell Purab.
He thanks Purab for being a good friend and prays that in their next lives, Purab returns as his brother.
He begs Purab to take care of his grandmother and his wife, Pragya, if he's not around anymore.
Purab says okay.
Abhi ends the call and decides to call Pragya one last time.
He manoeuvres the steering with one hand as he dials Pragya's number.

Pragya is in the house.
She takes vermillion to apply on her forehead.
She hears the phone ring and the vermillion smears.

She answers the call and accuses Abhi of cheating by leaving her at home.
She tells him that he should hurry home.

Abhi asks himself how he can tell her that he might never come back to her.
He says it's strange that whenever they are about to part ways, they realise the value of love; they were earlier supposed to celebrate being together but destiny makes a different plan and he is very happy that destiny chose him this time and has decided to spare Pragya.
Pragya asks what he's talking about.
He says in the beginning, their thoughts and status were different but love made them compatible and brought them up to the same level.
He says love is the reason they got together and it's the same reason that they will part ways.
She tells him to get serious.
He says he loves her too much and always will but she has to think beyond their love.
He's crying.
He tells her life is long and she should promise him that she will make the best of it.
She tells him to stop as he's scaring her.

Nikhil is in his car.
He sees Pragya's car and follows it to see how Pragya would crash.
He is shocked to see it's Abhi inside it.

Abhi continues to try to manoeuvre the car.
It is raining.
He tells Pragya that someone tampered with the brakes of her car to kill her.
Pragya freezes as she realises Abhi is driving her car.
Abhi tells her that she has gone through so much and put her life on the line.
He says he loves her very much and it's his turn to put his life on the line.
She begs him to try and stop the car.
He says he can't as the brakes are not working and he doesn't have much time so he wants to talk to her.
He tells her that no one would love her as much as he but he wants her to promise she would get married.
Pragya tells him he would be fine and she would save him.
She asks where he is.
He says no.
He says they were destined to meet and fall in love but weren't destined to live together.
Pragya begs to try and stop the car.
Abhi tells her that he loves her.
He tries to avoid hitting a street vendor so the car swerves and falls off a cliff.

Pragya's phones falls out of her hand.

She runs into the street trying to stop cars to help her.
A woman stops for her.
Pragya begs her to take her to look for her husband who has been in an accident as someone tampered with the brakes of the car.

The woman takes her to the market.
They see a crowd of people gathered at the edge of a cliff.

Pragya gets out of the car and goes to ask the people in the crowd what happened.
They tell her a car went off the cliff.
Pragya screams and tells them it was her husband.
A woman says she will take her down the pathway to the bottom of the cliff.

Purab arrives Abhi's second home and meets the front door open.
He goes inside and sees Abhi's jacket.
He concludes that Abhi was with Pragya after all.

Tanu is driving Alia around town.
Alia says she couldn't think inside the hotel room and needed to clear her head.

Nikhil calls Alia's phone.
She asks him if Pragya is dead.
Nikhil says Pragya wasn't in the car and it was Abhi who was in the car when it went off the cliff

Alia goes numb.
Tanu asks her what Nikhil said.
Alia says it was Abhi in the car and he had an accident.

She calls Nikhil back to ask how he could make such a mistake.
She vows to ruin him for killing her brother.
He tells her she's the one to blame because she and Tanu told him Abhi was in Delhi.
He reminds her that they all planned Abhi's ruin together and now she pretends to be mourning the loss of her brother.
Alia says Abhi was her one and only brother regardless and he loved her in spite of everything.
She tells him never to show his face again as she would never forgive him.

Purab gets back into his car and drives.

The woman who told Pragya she knew a way to the bottom of the cliff, drives her down.
They get to the car that is damaged beyond repair.
Pragya opens the door but the car is empty.
She breaks down in tears.

The woman consoles her and says Abhi might have jumped out of the car before the crash so he might not have major injuries.

They search till Pragya finds Abhi lying unconscious and covered in blood.

Purab is at the edge of the cliff.
He asks the crowd what happened.
They tell him about the man who drove off the cliff and the woman who came to look for him.
He shows the man a photo of Pragya and the man confirms the woman who came was Pragya.

Pragya shouts to let the woman know she found Abhi.
The woman tells her to check for a pulse.
Pragya checks and cries in relief that he has a pulse.
The woman says they have to get him to a hospital.

Grandmother calls Purab to ask if he has seen Abhi and Pragya.
Purab tries to deflect.
Grandmother says she knows he's hiding something.
Purab tells her about Abhi and the accident.
Grandmother breaks down.
Rachna takes the phone and Purab tells her what happened.
She consoles Grandmother.

Pragya and the woman bring Abhi to the hospital.
The nurses take Abhi inside on a stretcher.
The woman tells Pragya that's she has to go.
She assures Pragya that Abhi would be fine.

Pragya holds her breath as the doctors examine Abhi.
She asks how soon he would regain consciousness.
One of the doctors tells her that Abhi would never regain consciousness because he's dead.
