Movie Story: Jemeji - Season 1 - Episode 74

It's night time in Aji and the entire village is asleep.
Someone smears red paint on Iya Francis' front door.
She comes outside and screams when she sees it.
She doesn't see the person who did it.

Senami is half lying on a bed in a hotel.
Kingsley sits on the bottom of the bed across from her.
Senami says she just has the worst week of her life.
She looks around the room and says she thought they were going to Aji.
Kingsley says since Chief was involved in the plot to take her back to Lagos, he thought it's best for her to lay low for a while.
She starts laughing.
He asks if she's okay.
She says it's actually funny; what kind of father kidnaps his own daughter and the chief actually helped him?
He tells her to look at it from her father's perspective, his daughter has been abroad and she suddenly returns and wants to be in a village and Aji of all villages.
She says she doesn't care.

Her father calls and asks where she is.
She tells him to just go back to Lagos.
He asks if she has any idea what she's doing.
She tells him not to underestimate her.
She hangs up.

Her sister, Sesinu calls and asks what she did to their father because she has never seen him this angry.
Senami says she was the one who was kidnapped so she should be the angry one.
Sesinu says they worry about her.
Senami says she and their father should save their energy.

After the call, Kingsley says she was savage and he likes it; everyone has a bit of dysfunction.

He stands up and says he would be in the other room.

Senami calls Oviyon's phone but there is no response.

Oviyon comes to the palace.
He asks Obi if he has seen Senami.
Obi asks if he didn't hear that she left with her father to Lagos.
Oviyon asks why.
Obi says that's what Otogan told him.
Oviyon tries not to show how hurt he feels.

Matron is in the clinic.
Dr Jide walks in and says he heard the riot was bad but he didn't know it was this bad.
She says it's even better now.
He asks what she's doing.
She says she's trying to sort through the patients' files and she's been sending them to Wesere.
He says it's too far.
Matron says it's the only available option for now.

The villagers gather in front of Iya Francis' House.
Someone says Iya Minasu's blood is punishing Aji.

Fonton says they need to see Mausi about the issue because it seems someone is trying to scare them but he refuses to cower.
He walks to the door, ignoring Petunia who tries to stop him.
He touches the paint and tastes it.
He says it's blood.
The villagers scream.

Petunia looks him over and asks if he's okay.
He says he's okay; he's innocent and his spirit is pure so no one can harm him.
Petunia says she knows her husband is a good man.
One of Petunia's boys says they all know Fonton is a good man, a man of the people.
The villagers cheer.

Fonton says the only crimes he has committed was to protect the people of Aji from strange and foreign practices.
He says he accepted the blood riot because he wanted to make Aji safe again.
The villagers are listening intently.
Fonton says now Aji is under a very dangerous threat; they can see how a corpse was moved in the middle of night and blood on a door so wherever it is coming from, they must get to the bottom of it to expose every power and principality and make sure Aji is safe again.
They is loud applause.
He looks at Petunia to know if his performance was good.
She smiles reassuringly.

Dr Jide sees Folake in the palace.
She ignores him.
He asks if she's ignoring him because chief caught her.
She says it's because she doesn't want to say anything to him.

Chief walks in.
Folake gets on her knees and pleads with him to forgive her as it would never happen again

He tells her to get up but it should never happen again.
She thanks him and leaves the room.

Dr Jide tries to weigh in on Folake's matter but Otogan cuts him off and asks for his opinion on the clinic because the people can't continue to go to Wesere.
Dr Jide says they need a place to work.
Otogan suggests the Corpers' lodge.
Dr Jide asks if Dr George isn't there.
Otogan says her father took her away from Aji.
Dr Jide says he thought there was too much spunk in her to give up that easily.
Otogan asks if he would look into using the lodge as a temporary clinic.
Dr Jide says he will get right to it.

Folake is outside working, on her laptop.
Obi walks up to her and asks if she knows Senami left with her dad.
She ignores him.
He asks what's wrong.
She asks wy he was denying her in front of his dad and Jide.
Obi says Chief was talking about him getting married and he's not ready for that.
She asks why he didn't just tell her.
He says it's not his fault she has an over active mind.

Otogan and Jide come outside.
Otogan tells Jide to let him know when the lodge is ready so he can tell the town crier to inform the village.
Dr Jide leaves.

Obi tells Otogan that he thinks they should be allowed to resume their corper duties.
Otogan says they can.
Folake thanks him and goes inside to get ready for work.

Otogan tells Obi that Folake is beautiful.
Obi smiles shyly and agrees that she is
Otogan tells him to be careful because beautiful women are often the downfall of powerful men and the eyes of the village are on him.

Kingsley brings Senami to his house.
She thanks him then turns to leave.

He asks where she's going.
She says she's going to see the Chief to ask why he colluded with her father to kidnap her.
He advises her to stop and remove herself from the situation so she can come up with a plan.
She asks how.
He suggests she has a shower; she can have the guest room.
He leads her inside.

Folake and Obi are on their way to their jobs.
She tells him about her apology to Otogan.
He says Chief is a kind man.
She says he still isn't used to calling Chief his father.

She gets a phone call and turns to take it.

Some maidens of Aji walk by and stop to eye Obi.
One stops and offers to cook for him.
She puts her hands all over him.

Folake ends her call and shoves the maiden out of the way.

Kingsley enters the living room and finds a note from Senami saying she has gone to the palace and it wasn't a hasty decision.

Senami walks into the palace and asks Otogan if he's surprised to see her.
He says he can see her.
She asks if he won't deny that he helped to kidnap her.
He says he helped her father and that's all there is to it; can a father kidnap his daughter?
She threatens to report him.
He tells her to go ahead if anyone would believe her.
He tells her that she needs to look at things from her father's point of view, her father and grandmother made a choice and decided to live by the choices they made.
She says that's not for him to say.
He asks her what she wants.
She walks out and a guard goes after her.

Obi is waiting in the bush.
Dr. Jide joins him and says he can see he's getting rave reviews from the girls of Aji.
Obi asks if that's why he called him there.
Jide says from now on they would meet in this location because there are too many eyes on him.
Obi says meeting in public is a bad idea.
Jide says it will soon be over and they wouldn't need to meet at all.
Obi asks what he called him for.
Dr. Jide says he wants Obi to make Chief believe he has no interest in staying in Aji so that when he eventually leaves, he won't suspect him.
Obi says it can be done.
Jide says he also needs him to put his house in order and he needs to stop that thing he's doing with Folake.
Obi says she's not the problem.
Jide says she is distracting him and he won't warn him again, he stays true to the plan or the DNA result will come out negative.
