Having a sigh, i unlocked my computer which had already locked itself when i was making the call. Looking at the screen, i saw an incoming file and opened it, it was the file of the two bad cops am about to investigate and i hope that something good comes out of it.
I opened mason’s file and starts to go through it, his home address, number, his rank in the service, his years of service and the crimes he committed. I clicked on his crime and start to go through it, to be honest he surely had a great deal of dirty games on his hand.


Picking up my phone, i called the chief and told him what i found out recently on the case and how i want to proceed on it, he gave his approval. When joy returned, i told to grab the necessary stuff that we are going to pay mason a visit.

Few minutes later…., standing at the door of his home address, i was doubtful on whether we would find him at home, because ordinary looking at his door will tell you that its been long someone made use of you of it but still yet we had to knocked just to be sure. We knocked for about four times and just like i feared nobody came out, looking around the area i noticed an old man sitting in front of the house opposite the one we are, so i decided to go over talk with him a little and see what i can get from him.
“good morning sir” i greeted
“morning son” he replied puffing some smoke into air, gosh i nearly coughed, i hate smoking with passion but i had to keep my cool in front of this man if i want to get any information from him.

“well sir, me and fiance came to visit a very good friend of mine that leaves across you” i said pointing to the building “but it looks like he’s not around” i told him
“your friend?” he asked looking at me and at joy suspiciously

“yea, my friend his name his mason, i would have to say my name but i want to suprise him” i said “please do you have any idea where he went?”

“well mason, its been long I’ve seen him, my guess is that maybe he traveled but since he’s staying here, i hvnt seen anyone visit?” he replied to him
“yea…actually, i just came into town and wanted to surprised him, anyway since he’s not around we go to be going then” i said
“won’t you drop your name or number?” he asked me again

“no sir, it would spoil the fun for me, dont worry am still in town so i would come visiting before i leave”

“ok then”
“have a nice day”

We entered our and drove out of the place, moving blocks away i stopped the car again and took some deep breath of fresh air. Joy laughed at me

“dont tell it was the old man’s pipe that made your face to be wrinkled like this” she asked
“maybe” i said “anyway mason is out of town and that leaves us with troy to question, pull up his file and check for his home address”……….


30 minutes later…….
We had already visited troy and speaker with him, from his statement all i could gather his that he’s no longer on good speaking terms with mason since their dismissal from service, according to him it was mason that came up with all the ideas and then he gave a very good info, he told us that mason has been planning something big before he broke their friendship and that mason would never share the idea with anybody, maybe that was why he left the city…..
Back at our office, we analyzed all the stuffs we had gotten so far and submitted it to our chief, to process it with the MCIU headquarters.
Few minutes later, he called me into his office
“you sent for sir” i asked once i entered his office

“yes, i called you, the board of directors of MCIU wants to speak with you” he said and puts on the large television behind him.
Looking at the television, i saw the board of directors, the commissioner and his secretary
clearing his throat, the commissioner spoke up
“good work, detective Jackson, i know you were going to come up with something good, though am not suppose to stay and talk with you, i just wants you to know that we have reach a common agreement, we have decided to take you off the book and to make mason, our suspect number one, your heads will discuss in full with you, goodluck jack” he said and his screen went off. Turning to the board their head spoke up

“jack, this case must delicate that is it is now classified, we dont want to give out unnecessary info that might make mason to hide, your priority now is to find him and question him and if anything to come up, arrest him but, you must do this with limited people knowing about it, is that understood?” he said
“yes sir”
“good, goodluck” and they too went off.

I heaved a sigh of relief which i have suppressing since ei heard the goodnews, who could have imagine that i was about to go down with a crime i never committed
“jack” my boss said “the board wants you to know that because your no longer suspect number 1 doesn’t mean you are off the book, remember no solid evidence is found against mason yet, so you must fine that evidence or you are going down” he said……
