David gazed at the ceiling from his bed thinking about Udoka. “I guess she’s troubled” he though. Just then, his phone ran and he picked it instantly.
“Hi, Dave” a female voice sounded on the phone.

“Hi, Sandra” David replied.
“U’ve not called me for two day. Why? I guess a girl is catching ur attention”
“No, dear” David smiled…
:
MR ROBINSON’S RESIDENT

“You don’t even miss me that’s why you’ve not called for two days” Sandra continued on the phone with David who la!d on his bed.

“No, that’s not true” David replied.
“But i miss you. I just wish they call off the strike”

“Me too coz it’s getting bored here”
“Aright..” both remained silent. “Make sure you call me tonight before going to bed” Sandra added.

“Okay, bye” the line went off then David kept his phone thereby resuming back to his thought about Udoka. He kept reciting her name in his heart staring at the ceiling.

At the resident of Mrs Williams, the twins sat on the bed silently after the incident. Udoka placed her hand on Monica’s shoulder reasoning why her sister fell down for no reason. As she wanted to ask why, Monica said, “This is becoming serious”
“What’s that?” Udoka stared at her.
“I saw the same thing again”
“What thing?”

“The Dark Forest and the bright light. It was brighter than initial”
“When did you see it?”
“The time i fell down”
Udoka exhaled deeply and said, “So, it’s no more a dream but…”

“A vision” Monica interrupted then silence took over. Their minds wandered up and down critically. After some time, Udoka stood up angrily facing her sister. “Listen Monica” she began. “Mother must take us to Ndiogoro. He must take us to our father’s village coz things are getting out of hand! I can’t bear this anymore! Who knows the meaning of what’s happening to you? I never knew my father, why can’t i know where he comes from. I’m tired!”
Meanwhile, Monica had started shedding tears since she was the emotional type. “Udoka, I’m scared” she said thereby increasing her tears.

Udoka went back to her and embraced her warmly. “Don’t be scared, nothing will happen to you” she consoled her.

8:50pm

Monicaand udoka had eaten and done other things, yet their mother had not come back home which got them worried. Monica la!d on the cushion while Udoka sat on the bed. She glanced at a wall clock and the door occasionally hoping to see her mother walk through it. She wasn’t looking happy at all! Suddenly, the door cracked opened and Mrs Williams entered then Monica sat up immediately. “Mother?” she called with a tender voice. She stood up and gave her a welcome hug then returned back to her seat.
“Welcome mother” Udoka greeted without looking at her mother.
“Why are both of you looking very moody?” the mother asked but none of them said a word.

“You never told us you’ll be going out today” Udoka looked at her.
“Yes mother, we were so worried about you. Where did you go to?” Monica added.
“I went to see some people” the mother replied then walked to the bed. All remained quiet until she sat at the edge beside Udoka. “I hope you’ve eaten” she said but the twins kept quiet.

“Mother, you’re taking us to our father’s land tomorrow or next” Udoka spoke up.
“Shut up!” the mother shouted at her.
“Mother, i won’t shut up!” Udoka stood up angrily.

“Chineke! Udoka, you’re raising your voice at me”

“I’m sorry mother but i can’t bear this anymore! You must take us to see our father’s land”

“But i just told you we cannot set foot there!”

“I don’t care!”
“Chineke!” the mother exclaimed. “Why do you even want to go there?” she asked.
“To see my father’s own house, land and the Dark Forest probably” Udoka replied.
“You must be out of your mind!”
“Mother, something is wrong somewhere! Ask Monica what happened to her this evening”

Hearing that, Mrs Williams looked at Monica. “What happened to you my daughter?” she asked then Monica told her. “God, what type of problem is this?” she began to cry.

Monica couldn’t bear to see her mother’s tears, so she began to cry too but Udoka didn’t care. She stood at the door without even being moved emotionally but when she saw her sister’s tears, tears ran down her eyes too. She whipped it off immediately.
