Ben cogigated about the issue. He was fretful of what the outcome could be as different questions bombard his mind.
Would she really conceive ?
What if she dosen’t?

Does it worth it?
Going for three days without eating nor drinking.

He ruminated deeply, thinking of the negative as if he wasn’t a believer of christ.
What would happen after if they did?
Was the main question that he couldn’t find an answer to.

Why did he have little faith?
He couldn’t attest to that since
He suddenly lose his faith.
He only hoped it would work out as the solution to their predicament.
Nancy on the other hand, believed everything the pastor said and her faith uphold her.
She already knew ben would find it hard to do as the pastor had said.

The pastor was long gone, he had left them them there after praying for them.
Nancy tapped ben on his shoulder as he was drowned in his own thoughts.
He sprung up as if he was being electrocuted.
“lets go”
nancy said casting him a fugitive look.
“where’s he?”
ben asked refering to the pastor.
“he’s gone”
nancy replied and made for the door.
‘Gone?’
ben muttered under his breath.

He wanted to ask the pastor why he had no faith but he was no where to be found.
He shrugged in resignation and followed nancy to their car.

He drove back home and he met simeon waiting for him.
“hey man!”
ben shouted through the window of the sienna on sighting him sitting down comfortably on a brick outside their gate.
Simeon rose to his feet and went in as ben drove in and parked.

He alighted and went over to simeon.
“watsup buddy!”
ben greeted simeon exuberantly.
“i’m fine man!”
simeon replied as they shook hands.
“lets go in”
ben said and led the way to the sitting room.
Nancy also greeted simeon and walked out of the sitting room.
“i’m sorry for delaying you out there”
ben said as he sat on a couch adjacent to where simeon sat.
“oh!, i just came not quite long”
simeon replied and looked up to see nancy at his front serving him chilled drinks and curtisied thereafter before she left.
“we both went out to see our church pastor for a solution to our predicament.”
ben said and sank into the couch.
“so you finally went to see him?”
ben asked and as he sipped his drink.
“yes i did, we had to go since everything was getting out of hand, could you even believe i lost my mother due to this?”
ben said while simeon’s eyes popped out.
“are you serious?”
simeon asked bewildered.
“huh? Its not sort of a joke! I was surprised myself.”
ben said.

“how did it happened?”
simeon asked in disbelief.
“she was involved in a ghastly motor accident which cost her life, that is after she left here molesting my wife”
ben said while simeon felt sorry for him.
He had truly went through a lot and worst still, he had no child, no job adding to their problem.
“i’m really sorry for the loss, you just have to take heart”
simeon said shaking his head.
“well, i already did.”
ben replied blinking his eyes not to alow a tear drop.
“what about your visit to the pastor?”
simeon asked changing the topic.
“he said, he was shown the revelation a month ago and he’d been waiting for us since then.”
ben replied non chalantly.
“does that mean he knew what she could do to conceive?”

simeon asked and listened with rapt attention.
“yes, he told us to pray and fast for three days and she would conceive though i still don’t believe she would conceive”
ben replied while simeon opened his mouth surprised.

“i can’t believe you saying this, you don’t believe she would conceive?”
simeon asked bewildered.
“yes, because if she would really conceive, we would have been counting up to three children now, and why would three days fasting and praying make her conceive?”
ben replied firmly less perturbed.
“i still can’t believe my ears, don’t you have faith at all?”
simeon asked really hurt with his countenance.
“faith?”
ben asked and chuckled.
“have you forgotten faith was once my secretary at work before i was fired?”
ben said with a mocking tone.
“i don’t mean that, i mean your complete trust and confidence in God that he would do it for you.”

simeon said and stood up in annoyance.
He wouldn’t have believed if they told him ben could act strangely such as that.
Ben who everyone knew backthen as a devoted christian that had won souls for christ and had really contributed to the work of God.

They also wouldn’t have believed that such words came from ben.
What a pity!
