RITA: I’m sorry, I can’t take it I didn’t do this so you could pay me.

KOLA: Common Rita, I’m giving you this phone so we could communicate and know each other more. So please take it. I thought for a while before I took the phone from him.

I left and came home.

Later that night I was at home preparing dinner when the phone kola gave me started ringing I checked it and the caller was “my number” I picked and it was kola.

KOLA: Good evening Rita

RITA: Good evening sir, how are you feeling?

KOLA: I’m fine.

RITA: Are you sure about that? You should be resting. When are you going to be discharge from the hospital?

KOLA: I was discharge this evening.

RITA: Oh I see, so have you eaten?

KOLA: No, I’m not hungry dear.

RITA: Don’t tell me you are thinking of becky? Starving yourself won’t change anything, so please let it go ok?

He sign then thanked me.

KOLA: I called to say thank you, for saving me today I really appreciate.

RITA: Common, it’s nothing, I thank God I could help.

KOLA: So, tell me what are you doing right now?

RITA: I’m making dinner

KOLA: Hmmm, no wonder I have been swallowing saliva since I got back from the hospital, you must be a good cook I guess.

RITA: Smiles, you are very funny kola, well I don’t know if I’m a good cook ooh because no one has ever told me that.

KOLA: What do you mean by no one has ever told you “if you’r a good cook” what about your mum and dad?

RITA: Hmmm, it’s a long story kola and can’t be discuss on the phone (I suddenly remember I had food on the fire) kola please kola hold on I think my food is burning.

KOLA: Ok ok please go check it, I’m right here.

I thank God I came at the right time else it would have gotten burnt. I quickly put it down from the fire and dish the one I was going to eat for the night, then went back to my phone.

RITA: Hey! Are you still there?

KOLA: Yeah I’m right here dear.

RITA: Hmmm.

KOLA: What!

RITA: Nothing, just wondering if it’s not airtime you are using.

He laughed before he said

KOLA: You are funny dear, of course it’s airtime I’m using.

RITA: Oh ok ooh! So try and eat something ok?

KOLA: Truth is my heart is heavy I can’t even eat, I still feel hurt, that’s why I called so you could make me feel better.

RITA: So, is your heart still heavy talking to me?

KOLA: Hell no! I’m feeling warm and calm (he said laughing)

RITA: Good then, so promise me you won’t skip meal tonight.
