He sat on his chair writing all the evidence he had gathered from the crime scene. Being his second day at the station. He needed to do his job rightly. A knock on the door drew his attention. He rose from the chair and strode to the door. He opened it and a police officer walked in.

“Good morning, sir,” he greeted hands clasped behind back.
“Morning officer!” he responded walking back to his chair.

He waited for him to sit down before proceeding. The detective sat on the chair, hands on his chest and paid attention to the police officer.
“You can take a seat,” he offered.
“I’d rather stand sir. We received a phone call two hours ago. A man called reporting a matter.”
“What matter? Did someone get shot?”
“No, sir but a woman is being held hostage.”
“How do we know thats true? What if they are all lies?”
“There is a man at the station who came with a report. His girlfriend has been kidnapped. I am sure she is the same woman reported to have been held hostage. I heard the Chief saying you are the one responsible for the case.”

The detective looked at him. The police officer stood like a soldier being inspected.
“I hear you. Did the caller give you the location?”
“Yes!”
“Let’s hear it.”
“Number 2, Bridgewater road. In Sauerstown.”
The detective wrote down the address.
“Let’ s go!” He said taking out his gun.
They walked out of his office and passed by the reception. Stevie sat with Gloria, as soon as they saw the police office they stood up.
“Did you tell the detective of what I said?” Asked Stevie.

“My name is Detective James,” he said giving out his hand to greet Stevie but his eyes were focused on the police officer. “I am investigating the murder of Miley.”
He shifted his gaze.

“And you think my mother killed her. You holding the wrong person in the jail. It’s Bianca who did all of that.”
“Mind telling me who is Bianca,” said the detective curiosity written all over his face.
“Bianca was my ex girlfriend..actually is. I think she is the one who took my fiancee, Adela. She forced her to write a letter to me. Thinking that she had left me for another man. But my Auntie over here received a call from Adela. She mentioned Bianca’s name. You have to save her.”

“We now know were she is holding her. I promise you that we will bring back your girlfriend home safe and sound,” he assured and walked out of the station.

They drove the police van to the address they were given. In few minutes they had reached the house. The house was surrounded by cops.

“Bianca!” called out the detective. “You are surrounded by the police. We know that you in the house. Surrender yourself now. There is no way to run. I am going to count to 3 if you don’t come out. We are forced to come in. 1..2.. I am counting down Bianca. I am b..,” he stopped at midsentence when Bianca came out with Adela, gun pointed at her.
“Adela!” shouted Stevie.
“Stevie!”
“Bianca, let her go. What do you want from her. Why did you kill Miley?”

“Because I did it for you. So that you and I can be together. I love you Stevie. I am sorry for hurting you and the pain I caused you. I didn’t mean to hurt you, my love. It was a terrible mistake that I made. Come back to me. Although we have come to the end of the road. I still can’t let you go.”

When Bianca was busy talking to Stevie, the detective was getting close to her. Bianca immediately noticed the detective and was about to shoot Adela. The detective shot her on her arm. He quickly put her in handcuffs.

“You are under arrest for attempted murder. Anything you say or do will be held against you in the court of law.”

She was put in the van.
“I will drive,” said the detective.
He drove off. Adela and Stevie hugged each other tightly.

ONE YEAR LATER
They sat at the back of their house watching the stars.

“I still can’t believe that Bianca killed Daniel and Miley,” he said his head on her lap.
“And framed your mother. Love can make you go crazy.”

No one knew which jail Bianca was taken too. Even at the trial, they didn’t go. Angela was later realeased from jail. He asked for forgiveness from Adela and even helped with the preparation of the wedding. The two got married and were now living together with Auntie Gloria who was taking care of their two month old baby.
“When the night comes, look at the sky, If you see a falling star, don’t wonder why, just make a wish. Trust me, it will come true, because I did and I found you Adela. I love you babe.”

“So sweet I love you too my love. Sometimes words are hard to find, to form that perfect line to let you know you are always on my mind,” she said and wiped the tears.

“Are you crying?” he turned to look at her.
“Tears of joy,” She smiled.

They started kissing.

“Lets take this to our room. Ashley is still sleeping,” he lifted her up
