Sharon - Season 2 - Episode 20

“Don’t mind me, it’s a weird statement I heard from an American movie”. I said and she laughed.

“You’re quite the movie freak you know?”. She said and punched my shoulder and we both laughed. I haven’t laughed in a whole week so, I was quite happy sitting there with her. We sat in silence enjoying the ride for a while then she spoke again.
“So, what brings you to my office?”. She asked and I laughed.

“Your office really?”. I asked and she shrugged then said nothing.
“Came to see my friend. Or is Jenny going to arrest me for seeing you too?”. I asked smiling and she shrugged again.

“Well you’ve never come to see me alone before. You always come with your girl”. She said looking at me. I stalled for a while trying to figure out what to say to her.

“Well your sister is…”.
“Unless something is wrong. What’s it? Lover’s quarrel?”. She asked and I faked a laugh.

“Come on Mimi, seriously I just…”.
“Cut the crap Godson I heard about it”. She interrupted again and I sighed but said nothing.

“So tell me what really happened?”. She asked and I stalled again before talking.
“Someone beat her in class…”
“Yea yea, I heard you fought for her. Really brave of you to defend your girl and she wasn’t happy about it. Which girl wouldn’t be happy about that?”. She asked rhetorically and I gave a sigh of relief believing she was on my side.

“Except if she asked you not to and she did ask you not to. Didn’t she?”. She asked again and I said nothing, I only came because I felt she wouldn’t judge me but now it seems I was wrong. The Merry go round was going faster currently so you’d have to speak a little louder to hear yourself.
“And that’s why you had to hit her?”. She asked smiling and I faked a smile too.
“She told you all these and she left the part where she…”.

“Called you Arrogant? Is that enough reason to hit her?”. She cut me short again. I was already feeling embarrassed with the way she spoke to me in the presence of my juniors( her former mates) so, I asked them to stop riding and leave.

“What are you doing?”. She asked once they all left.

“Asking my juniors to leave”. I said proudly and she frowned at me.
“Those juniors are my mates”. She reminded me.

“Were your mates and even if they are still your mates, they’re still my junior and I won’t have them enjoy senior jokes”. I boasted and she laughed and shook her head.
“Just in Jss2 and it’s senior jokes already? Maybe Jenny was right, maybe you are not worth being Sharon’s friend because you’re too proud to have anyone as your friend”. She lashed at me fearlessly. Someone else and I would have made her apologize but, I was already dying of guilt for laying my hands on Sharon to add hitting my second favorite person to the list.

“No Miriam. I know you’re mad at me just like everybody is right now but you’re still my junior and you don’t get to talk to me like that”. I warned and she hissed and stood up to leave too.

“Sharon was right, you’re truly Arrogant”. She said and started walking out.
“Fine! What am I supposed to do?”. I said and swallowed hard then she turned.
“What you should’ve done all this while, go and apologize to her. You messed up your friendship not me so go mend it and don’t drag me into your lover’s quarrel”. She said and walked out quickly. I was so stupid to think Miriam wouldn’t be mad at me too. what she was asking of me was impossible, I can’t even look into Sharon’s face since not to talk of apologizing. I left the merry go round believing I’d never get Sharon back so, I should try living with it.
