“Well that’s nice, you could’ve cried yourself to sleep”. Sharon teased her.

” like you did?”. Chidimma teased back and we all laughed.

“Godson I don’t know what happened, but I know you got involved all because you were with Kelvin. That boy is trouble and you know it, no offense. Am not saying you should stop being close but, you have to start giving him and those his thugs some space”. Chidimma counseled me like she always do. She was kind of right, if I wasn’t with the outlawz I won’t have gotten into these mess but they’ve also been my friends during the good days too and I can’t give Kelvin space not ever. I smiled when she was done with her advice.

” the last time you adviced someone like this and she didn’t heed, you stopped being her friend for good. Do I have a feeling the same thing is about to happen to me?”. I asked her and she smiled.

“Are you scared to lose me?”. She asked.
” should I be?”. I asked her too and she laughed.

“Oh come on don’t make your girlfriend Jealous “. She said.
” and who is that?”. Sharon faked a frown and Chidimma laughed uncontrollably. Miriam came in immediately, like she was being chased.

” hello husband and wives, I think our seniors have returned “. She informed us, I sprang up immediately and ran out and they followed suit. I met them at the Admin block, they were all wearing long and sad faces as they surrounded someone. I didn’t see Kelvin nor Bully amongst them so, I forced my way into the small crowd and I saw Kelvin and Bully sitting on the ground next to Kingsley whom was laying there unconscious, the nurse was treating or should I say examining his wounds. I went in further and had a clear look at him, he had a cut on his head and was stabbed with bottle on his left lap too. Kelvin’s eyes were bloodshot, and Bully the hard guy was already crying. Sharon and Chidimma forced their way in too, I only noticed when they both screamed and started crying. Sharon hid her face on my shoulder as she wept while Chidimma ran out of the crowd crying. Everybody wanted to know what really happened but only the four of us could say and non of us could say anything at that moment, personally I wasn’t going to tell anyone anything yet. The principal arrived soon with speed, she didn’t ask any questions, she just asked them to carry him into the car and they did so. Kelvin and our school headboy joined him in the back and the school nurse sat at the front with the principal as they drove off to hospital with speed. Bully and some SS3 students all boarded bikes and trailed them. I led Sharon to a bench in front of the principal’s office and we both sat down, she’d stopped crying but she still kept her head on my shoulder. Chidimma’s mum drove in as soon as the principal and the others had left, she (Chidimma) waved us bye as she got into the car with her kid bro in primary 4 and they left immediately. The school buses that hadn’t left started loading again, Miriam came to call Sharon but, saw the Mood and position we both sat, and she smiled and left. Two buses had left it was remaining theirs when Jenny walked up to us, she stood their and watched us in shock. When I saw her I was shocked too but I didn’t show it, Sharon saw her but didn’t show any sign of being troubled at all, she just raised her and sat properly then smiled at her sister.

“Hi Jenny”. She waved at Jenny, whom was probably still startled at what she was seeing. What could probably be going in her mind currently.

” why are you still there?”. Jenny said in anger, one could hear the sound of her breath as she shot me with her eyes.

Sharon stared at her then at me and back at her again.

“You mean why am I still with my friend?”. Sharon asked her back.

” stand up and head to the bus right now”. Jenny ordered but, Sharon relaxed back on the wall and faked a lazy yawn.

“Well am not taking the bus today but I’d be back before you know it”. Jenny folded her palm tightly like she was going to jump on Sharon. ” I pray you’d Never try that” I said in my mind then tried talking to Sharon.

“Listen Sharon…..” I was to yet say something when jenny cut me off.

“It’s non of your business, don’t say anything”. She shouted as pointed at me, I just smiled and looked the other way. The bus blew its horn multiple times as a sign that it was set to leave. Jenny looked at the both of us for the last time especially at Sharon then she walked. Sharon wanted to rest her head on my shoulder again but I shifted.

” Sharon you need to go with her”. I said to her calmly.

“No I’m not following the bus, at least not because that Glorious snitch ordered me to, am done following her orders”. She was bent on not going even though she knew it could get her into more trouble.
” you shouldn’t call her that”.

“What? You’re now supporting her? You don’t even know what she did”. She folded her arms and looked the other way.

” She told your mum you were flirting with me around the whole school”. She was shocked when I said this, I
didn’t expect less reaction from her, she didn’t know I was already aware. She tried to say something but couldn’t.

” yeah Miriam told me, you don’t think I’d see you being so gloomy and just look over. Would you have done the same?” I said boldly staring into her eyes, she couldn’t still say anything but, just bent her head.

“But, somehow Jenny was right, you shouldn’t have hugged me”. She faced up again when I said this, she looked confused.
“I don’t get it, what’s wrong with me hugging you?”. She asked. I also didn’t know why I said it but I had to make her stop disrespecting her sister because of me.

” it’s not hugging me that’s the problem but, hugging me in public. We kind of created a scene that day and no sister would want such for her younger sis”. I explained and she nodded like she’s accepted.

“Okay then, that’s why she’d say I was flirting with you around school?”. She faked a smile as she said this.
” all the same you have to go with them, who knows what she’d say this Time, please for me just go” I said holding her hands, she looked me in the eyes and smiled.
“Okay then, just for you”. she said then started heading towards the bus, her school bag was already in the bus with Miriam. she came back all of a sudden and hugged me. It seemed all I just said to her was nothing, just as if she knew I never meant it. I was wearing only my short and singlet but she held onto me like that, I couldn’t hug her back because I knew Jenny was seeing us.

” I’ve missed you Godson “. she said.
She didn’t break the hug until the school bus drove up to where we stood, then she walked into the bus as it drove out of school. I went back to the clinic and luckily my shirt was already dry but the jacket wasn’t. I wore my shirt and folded the jacket into my bag then locked the clinic. I kept the key with the gateman, and started leaving. some jss2 girls that walking at the other side of the road were all looking at me, and they were also gossiping. As I walked past them I heard one say:
” can you imagine, just in JSS1 and they’re already fighting outside school “.
they were already printing our stories but, that wasn’t my major concern. I was more bothered about what would happen the next day and what I would tell my parents at home. I prayed in my heart things would work itself out. it was true today was a bad day for the Outlawz but it was a good day for me because it brought back my Sharon.
