All I.T students were to close by 5:00pm, but I
still
have to wait for a meeting with the
management
which would be starting by 7:00pm. Ewa
could not
wait for me after work so she left work before
me
and asked me to branch at her house when I’m
through at work.
.
It was 8:30pm Before the meeting ended, I
was so
tired after the day’s job. I left the factory at
around 8:35pm after the meeting. I left with
uncle
richard who dropped me at a junction leading
to
my house and gave me #2,000. Despite that I
was
tired, I branched at ewa’s house because she
stays on the same street with me but about
6polls
away from my house..
I got there at 9:00pm and dropped my “back-
bag”
on top of her bed as I greeted her friend. I was
relaxing
when she was offloading my bag to see maybe
I
bought something for her.
I went outside to purchase recharge
card and before I came back inside, she had
re-
arranged the
bag. Her friend left the room for us to seat
down
outside in the name of privacy. we had a short
romance and little discussion till 10pm that I
left
her place for my house. I entered my room,
prepared a spiced spaghetti for dinner,
proceed
to the bathroom and had a shower. At
11:00pm, I
picked
my blackberry phone, inserted a headset into
it
and plugged it into
my ear to listen to music. That was how I
slept off
while music was blasting into my ear. A small
stone hit me on my head while sleeping and it
actually woke me up, I managed to strain my
sleepy eye and open it, the next thin I saw
was a
gun pointing to me from the back of my
window.
On seeing the gun, my eyes opened wide. ***I
saw that
the net behind my window was torn with blade
and the aluminium window was forced opened
with an iron rod, the
burglary inside wasn’t tampered with.
All this happened while I was sleeping with
music
blasting into my ears**.
A thick voice answered from outside.

GUY: ogbeni, stand up ***with gun pointing
towards me***
.
ME: ***i passed a hot urine instantly***
.
GUY: do you want to die?
.
ME:: **shielvering** no sir!!!!.
.
GUY: if you know you don’t want to die, just
don’t
make any noise and shut up.
.
ME: ok sir!!!***holding my lips and passed
another urine as I was
looking at the gun*****

GUY: now stand up and open your door.
People are out there waiting. If you make any
noise, I will blast your head from the back.

ME: ok sir!!!, I stood up and opened the door.
Forcefully, 2 huge guys and a lady entered
and
pushed me away.
” Face the ground!!!!”
Yes sir
“If you look up, I blast you”
Yes sir.
They dragged me inside a black car and i was
drove into a compound. I was made to kneel
down. I could not see anything again as my
face
was already tied with a black handkerchief. I
noticed
someone entered the room and everybody was
hailing him. Shortly, after the noises have
gone
down i received a hot slap on my face. I was
distabilized and the wavelength of my eyes
lens
lost frequency and began to see different
colors
of ROYGBIV. I still didn’t know my offence.
The
man ordered them to open my face and I
could
see all of them. They are 4 hefty guys with
muscles all over there body. The man in the
other
hand was young and is likely to be in his 40s.

Man: young man, what is your name?

Me: *****shaking and shilvering******
.
GUY1: you no dey ear word?
.
Me: enh you mean my name? Ah! I can’t
remember.

GUY 1: ****slapped me with his thick hand****
.
Man: leave him, let him talk
.
Me: #crying *** my name is ayoola
.
Man: ayoola! Nice name though.
***his voice became stronger***
Man: look here, what’s the intimacy between
you
and ewa?

Me: me? Ewa?
.
GUY2: you think say na play we come here dey
play abi.

Me: ***shocked***

Man: leave him, he would talk… So answer me
.
Me: she is my fiancee
.
Man: ***shouted*** your what did you just
say?

Me: no sir
.
Man: ok, listen carefully to my warning. I don’t
want to see you near her again and any day I
see
you near her you should consider yourself
dead.

Man: I have been sponsoring her from her day

in school, I have spent a lot on her and you
think
you can just snatch her from me like that, it’s
impossible. I have just invited you for a
warning
so in your own interest you should Keep off! Is

Man: collected my phone and smashed it on
the
floor.

He later ordered his guys to close up my eyes
and
take me back home.

They drove me home and dropped me in front
of
my house. After their departure, I
managed to sit up. I flashed back to the
incident
and I was asking myself questions. Could that
be
chief badero?”” che I never enter am like this?
I began to wonder how he got to know my
house,
what was special about ewa that he wants to
kill
me for?, I began to ask questions and no one
was
with me to provide answers. I checked the
time
and it was 1:20am, everything seems to be
like a
dream to me. No phone to communicate my
uncle or my mum or even ewa herself to tell
them
about the incident. Even if I would tell them,
what
would I tell them?. Till 6:45am, I couldn’t get
out
of my room, I was so scared and my room was
smelling urine. When I heard the voices of my
neighbors, it was then I had the courage to
come
out. I went to meet my neighbours to relate
my
last night experience to them and I was
surprised
to realize that no one could hear about the
scene.
Even my next apartment neighbour said he
never
heard any sound or voice all through the
operation. I was baffled.
I borrowed phone from one of my neighbors
who
has 2 phones, and I inserted my second line
into
it to call ewa but her number wasn’t
reachable.
What is going on?,I said to myself that we’d
be
seeing at work. About 2 minutes after trying
ewa’s
number and it wasn’t reachable…
